Teriyaki lunch.
Uneven sidewalk. Fall down.
Lunch is on the ground.
In Belltown trees line the sidewalks. They’re planted in squares of bare ground about four feet on a side, and the sidewalk rises about an inch above them. My foot caught the edge, my ankle turned and my knee went out. I landed on my wrist.
Yeah, and I got miso soup with it too. I went back to the restaurant and ordered another, but they didn’t charge me for it. Very nice of them, and I even told them it was my fault for not looking where I was going. I threw a couple more bucks into the tip.
No ice. Don’t feel like a beer. I do have some Motrin, though.
It’s not a severe sprain. I found an Ace-type elastic wrap in the first aid kit at work and wrapped it up. (Took it off when I got home.)
I guess they tossed it. I didn’t open the bag (all of the miso soup spilled), but I’m pretty sure the Hawaiian macaroni-and-potato salad was in the teriyaki, the teriyaki was in the cole slaw, the cole slaw was in the rice, the rice was in the salad…
Very nice of them to replace it when it wasn’t their fault. I’ll remember that next time – especially since my next meal is free.
It’s still plenty painful. Sucks, because I use my left hand to pour coffee, open doors, accept change, use the computer… But I use chopsticks with my right hand. I took a couple more ibuprofen, and found a snack-pack of blueberries in the freezer that I’ve been ‘icing’ it with. Wondering if I should wrap it up again before I go to bed. I need to be careful to keep my wrist straight, and to not pick things up with my left hand.
Housecleaning is going to be fun tomorrow… I don’t think!
Well, it all goes to the same place – and it all comes out the same in the end. I suppose one of the cooks might have kept it for a snack, or maybe they gave it to a homeless person. But I’m betting it would up in the bin.
Is Belltown near Bellevue? It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the jungles of the mossy side.
It’s awesome you know of Tiger Balm. Topical analgesic and aromatherapy all in one delightfully exotic creme. Before football games we’d rub a quarter-sized-dot on our foreheads before donning helmets. Kept us focused. Of course, now whenever I smell it I want to knock people down…
Heh…you don’t want to use TB as a lube. Only Chuck Noris would do that!
Johnny remember R.I.C.E. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.
Inigo Montoya, Belltown is downtown, near the Seattle Center, Bellevue is across the lake. They are about 20 miles apart. Bellevue is busy and safe, Belltown is busy and dangerous.
