I do not share your racism.

Are you suggesting that the black neighbourhood was better off before the OP, the white racist and the rest of the whites moved in on the community ?

Yes. That is exactly what I was suggesting. You are very incisive. (Except that I’m American, so I would spell it “neighborhood”.)

If she had an iPhone, I would have stolen it.

I saw an IQ tests a few years ago that was centered on the things blacks are more likely to be aware of than whites. The whites were really dumb when the black music like rap are included in the questions.
IQ tests are not even handed.

A racist is someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.

Eight.

You’re right, it’s not fair for the standard IQ tests to ask questions like “What were Perry Como’s greatest hits?” and have you pick Pat Boone out of a photo lineup.

Please.

You’re a dang furriner! :stuck_out_tongue:

You just wish you were a real black person, like Herman Caine.

Funny, I never knew that I was a racist for advocating continued Canadian military involvement in Afghanistan. Oooh, that’s right, race bullshit is kryptonite to liberals, you’ve got a point…just keep waving that race/IQ shit around. The smell does keep the liberals at bay.

/Not surprised that thread on race gets hijacked by “realist” idiot.

There is not, nor have there ever been, a racist who didn’t think they based their views on “the facts.” Like Numerologist, Astrologists, Psychists, and Theists; nose-measuring, Pantone-chip carriyng, skull comparing, deaf/dum/blind, racists believe that their beliefs are true.

Your claim/search for the “virtuous racist” is a fallacy. They all believe themselves as virtuous, logical, and misunderstood. There is no racist who believes that they are acting wrong/unscientific. This holds for Jefferson as much as it does for the modern day kiddie-klan artists or to self-righteous homophobes.

They always think they’re right and this belief doesn’t make them any less racist/homophobic.

Here, I’ll quote you, then he’ll see it. He might not have me on ignore yet.

I’m sure that this woman doesn’t see herself as a racist. After all, she’s moved into a neighborhood where she’s the minority, and probably doesn’t have an active problem with non-white people, but is worried about the “bad ones,” that go around stealing things from innocent, unsuspecting white people. I’m sure she’s never stopped to think much about non-white victims of crime in that neighborhood, (which, statistically there surely are plenty of) because like most white Americans, she hasn’t had to worry herself about the internecine crimes amongst minorities, except to cluck her tongue as she’s watching the news and say “someone needs to do something about all that.”

But she is a product of a racist culture, and hasn’t put a lot of thought – again, because she hasn’t had to – into things like buying into “us vs. them” dichotomies, or using othering and divisive racial language and what unspoken (and perhaps unintended) messages she sends when she does so. Her racial responses to the conditions in the community she chose to live in are out of step with the realities of that community.

And this is the problem people have with gentrifying newcomers. They come into a community that’s likely been dealing with crime issues for a long time, and instead of working within the community and its existing structures to help find solutions, it becomes all about them. “Oh noes, they’re stealing our precious iPhones! They’re robbing us in the streets! We’re unsafe to go for walks with our iPods and out babies in their $800 Stokke strollers! Everyone look out! Someone do something! Won’t someone please think of the defenseless, targeted white women??!?!?!!”

It’s aversive racism, which is more insidious and much harder to root out because the people who perpetuate it are the very ones who would claim not to be (and often aren’t, intentionally) racist at all.

I’m not quite sure race was irrelevant to the OP’s situation.

Some black muggers might normally avoid mugging white people as they might fear mugging them would attract a harsher police response than mugging a black person.

I think this line from NWA sums it up well “When something happens in South Central, nothing happens… … just another n**ga dead

The woman might have just warned you that the local muggers have no such worry.

You are misunderstanding what I’m saying (as is your wont).

I agree with you that the vast majority (if not all) racists believe their viewpoint is supported by the facts. All I am saying is that someone who discusses facts about different races is not necessarily a racist.

So, for example, just because a person says they believe asians on average or shorter than whites on average based on studies they read is not necessarily a racist. Same goes for any other human feature (e.g., IQ) and any other set of races.

I have several people on mental ignore and no people on actual ignore.

Your demonstrated belief that there are human races proves that you are a racist. Humans cannot be divided into racism on anything but an arbitrary basis. Your statements are clearly racist, and just as wrong as the other racists who disagree with you.

Sorry, an incorrect statement there.

“…and just as wrong as the other racists who disagree with you.”

should have been

“…and wrong like the other racists who disagree with you.”

I’m didn’t mean to characterize you as being more, less, or equally wrong compared to the others.

The only thing worse than racists, is Blacks.

This is the classic liberal perspective on differences of opinion: if only we could educate people as to the facts, then all disagreements would vanish. But different facts are known to different people. It’s easy to sit at your computer and pull up sophisticated theories of black criminality that lay it all at the foot of discrimination, then curse the ignorance of the racist who doesn’t know or accept these “facts”.

But maybe the woman evensven encountered was recently the victim of a serious crime committed by a black person. In Washington DC, is this not quite possible, statistically? That would be a fact not known to evensven. Liberals tend to believe everything they read in books, if those books are written by people with “respectable academic credentials”. But most people weight their own direct experiences far more heavily than anything they’ve read in a book. You know the old saying about a conservative being a liberal “mugged by reality.”

It’s good for people to be compassionate, tolerant and understanding toward each other. Why can’t it go both ways? It is not as if this woman was marching up the street with a bullhorn yelling “Niggers back to Africa.” Certain people think they are doing a service to society by confronting, rejecting, denouncing, every possibly racist opinion or action, no matter how trivial. Not so. When you do that, you’re just legitimizing aggression as a way to solve problems, and you shouldn’t be surprised if the other side becomes more aggressive as a result.

There’s no such thing as “black criminality,” just as there’s no such thing as “white pedophilia”. There are simply criminals, and pedophiles.

You’re wrong and irrational, and you shouldn’t get your panties in a bunch when Orcenio and others point that out.
