My email address is correct, I have “instant email notification” on, I am subscribed to several threads, I get email to my email address from non SDMB people, but I haven’t received any emails from the Straight Dope for about a week. Does anyone know what’s going on?
Maybe the software put you on its ignor list, so it doesn’t know that you posted.
Quite frankly, I blame Bush for this snafu too.
Sending email notifications is yet another of the tasks for the server. The email gets batched in along with other tasks.
At times of server strain, it drops tasks . . . email seems to be the first to go.
I’m sorry this is happening to you. We do not as of yet have a solution to this problem.

It will get better . . . oh, check your spam filters, too; a lot of what we send out ends up in the traps these days.
Don’t be surprised if you get duplicates; it seems to be feast or famine around here. We can’t predict if you’ll get one notice, none, or many.

I don’t have any spam filters (I don’t get spam because I don’t give out my email). My ISP might though, I’ll log in there and see if there’s any stuff floating around.
