I don't like drinking through straws

Ah…the joys of having cold-sensitive teeth. I adore straws. I only wish they’d give them to me with water, since that’s usually what I drink, even at restaurants. I don’t really like soda with meals, aside from fast food.

Ice+my teeth=OWIE!!!

Agreed. If a drink has ice in it, I’d like a straw, or else I will take a half-hour to finish a glass because it hurts! Also, a straw is grand if it has milk in it, because I don’t like the smell of milk when I put my nose in the glass to drink. Yep, I’m weird.

A couple of restaurants I used to go to would only bring straws to women.

I prefer to drink through a straw because I get the cold liquid rather than the chunks of ice.

Portia?

You’re going to get wrinkles anyway. Smoking also decreases your blood circulation, which can lead to wrinkles faster. To equate smoking with drinking through a straw minimizes the the greater health effects of the former.

I guess you’re getting my straws, Mike1Dog. I usually only order water too, and I really like a straw with it - I don’t like the ice bumping my mouth either. I almost never have ice in a drink outside of a restaurant - if there’s ice, I want a straw.

(I don’t particularly like the smell of milk either, rinni - I love the taste, though.)

Don’t know if this is remotely helpful, but I queried once why some drinks came with straws and some without and was told it’s to mark the difference between, say, ‘rum & coke’ and ‘rum and DIET coke’.

I can’t recall now whether it was the diet version or the normal one that got marked with a straw though.

I like to chew on ice when I run out of drink. I’ll crunch it like hard candy. I enjoy it almost as much as the drink. Of course, some restaurants have bad tasting ice.

Straws if I’m having bubble tea. One of my little joys in life is sucking up those tapioca balls through the doublewide straw.

I don’t eat more than once in several blue moons at fast food restaurants, though, so the question is largely moot for me.
