Because they have indentations on both ends. I know they are there mostly for womens’ clothes with small/spaghetti straps. I make sure to avoid those hangers because it makes it harder to get a shirt off.
Take the hanger out through the bottom.
They sell light weight plastic hangers in large packs very cheaply without the indents.
A quick look at Amazon shows a 50 pack for only $18.99
Bonus as perfect for men’s shirts but still good for spaghetti straps with the 2 little hooks.
I don’t like those indented ones either, completely onboard with you.
You don’t have access to wire hangers?
Well, you could park your plane outside but then it’s exposed to the weather…
…what?

1 - If they are wire hangers, get a wire hanger indentation remover.
2 - Switch to wearing women’s clothes.
I don’t like mixer taps. But I get by.

After that beating Joan Crawford laid down!?
I just bought a bunch on Amazon without the indentation
That would be spelled “hangar”.
This is truly a mundane and pointless thing.
And those goddam hangers with the indentations are a pain in the ass. They detect when I’m in a hurry and staple themselves into my shirts. Yes, we can buy hangers without, but doing so literally makes zero difference, they all disappear and my closet fills itself with the indented ones.
I oughta get a furnace that runs on indented hangers. They are infinitely abundant and supply themselves continuously and effortlessly. That, or store all my shirts in a pile on the closet floor with the shoes.
Yes, I was making a joke. I didn’t really think this was a thread about airplane hangars.
I always have a couple in the tool kit for my car, which have gotten me “unstranded” several times. Wall hanginga are all hung on 2-inch “nails” made from a cut-up hanger, I get ten channels on a hanger antenna.
never seen wire hangers with the indents only plastic
This thread reminds me that I’ve been meaning to buy some hangers that were recommended in a closet organizing article I read recently. They’re plastic, but flattened, so they take up less room than your standard plastic hanger. They’re often flocked so that they’re not slippery, or in some cases, they have a slightly tacky rubberized area on top for the same reason.
I like these and I think I’ll order a batch, and dump my plastic ones with the annoying indentations.
Treat yourself right and get some padded hangers. They are expensive but if you buy a package whenever you happen to see them, sooner than you would think you will have enough for all your clothes. The ones I have are these. I love them and they don’t bend out of shape or make pointy lines on the shoulders of your clothes. They are wood so if something happens to the padding you can crochet new padding or use ribbon or something, although I have never had to do this. They are worth every penny.
Hangers? Just stuff everything in a pile then spray the crap out of it with wrinkle release juice when something worthy of wrinkless attire is required.
