My 10 year old son was just telling me about school today. He said that during his Social Studies class they were talking about politics. The teacher was talking about the different parties, when one of the kids asked what party she was, she said she was a Republican. The kid asked why. She told them, it was because "Al Gore Kills Babies !"
FUCK HER !
My kid goes to a public school. I don’t think there’s any place in the public schools for this shit ! She’s entitled to her opinions, but she has no fucking right to cram them down my kids throat ! Why the fuck is she telling fourth graders that ?
I’ll be talking to her superiors tomorrow morning !
Further, that kind of attitude is troubling regardless, especially in a schoolteacher. It’s ignorant, and shortsighted, and based purely on emotional appeal. Practically speaking, you just try inventing an interweb without infant blood sacrifice. It can’t be done!
This reminds me of the time that a friend of mine was pulled over by the police and the cop said “I’ll let you go if you take that damn sticker off your car.” It was a Clinton/Gore '96 sticker. My friend took the ticket.
I thought that any kid of a Doper would have responed to the teacher with, “Cite, please.” j/k
That teacher is an idiot, not so much for holding that view, but for telling it to a group of 10 year olds! Oh yeah, an new asshole ripping is totally appropriate.
Al Gore may kill babies but George Bush EATS THEM!
I remember my third grade teacher explaining why Nixon was good and McCarthy was evil. Evil was the word she used. I wanted to chatch back up with her a few years later but she didnt’ teach at that school anymore.
Saying Al Gore kills babies and McCarthy is evil is two very different beasts. Joseph McCarthy was probably just about as close to an openly “evil” politician we’ve ever had in America. No American politician that I know has ever killed a baby.
That shows incredibly poor judgment on her part. I mean, fer crissakes! You say that to a fucking 10 year old? Hell, I don’t think a teacher should say that to ANY age student.
It kinda makes you wonder in what other ways has her judgment been that bad.
I’d be willing to bet that you won’t be the only one. If I was in her class, the very first thing I’d do when I got home is ask my father if it was really true.
