Already reported. I jhave no idea what you’re talking about with the second part of that sentence, or why you think a mod is going to “corroborate” your misperceptions.
The mod is going to see that the substance of your quote was not changed in any meaningful way, so it is not against the rules. Which will be corroboration that your bizarre pedantic nitpickery about the word “allegation” is bullshit.
(Unless you’re talking about the “[…]”, but nobody is stupid enough to think that snipping quotes – especially when clearly marked – is against any rule.)
Well, the source is supposedly originally Miss Sterger.
This is the woman who, according to Deadspin, found the whole thing amusing yet wanted to keep the matter private amongst her circle of friends. Somewhere along the line she decided to let a trusted acquaintance in on the joke - a guy whose job it is to report on stories such as the one she handed him.
According to Deadspin, but they also say that she did not to give them the texts or cooperate with the story, and they got the texts from a third party. In any case, we have no direct, primary statement from an accuser. Only second and third hand hearsay, and an admission from Deadspin that the pics might not be Favre.
No, see, that’s the point. It does NOT change the meaning. You admit that there is an allegation, but that it’s a different kind of allegation that somehow doesn’t qualify as an allegation. Which is fucking retarded.
You used to understand what the word allegation means. For example, could you explain exact what allegation you’re referring to in this post, and how some guy posting on the internet is able to make an allegation and deadspin is not?
In that post another poster was making a direct allegation. In this case, no one has made a direct allegation. We only have a hearsay tabloid report that someone has. We don’t actually know that Sterger has said any of the things that deadspin alleges she said.
What’s the word “direct” mean in the phrase “direct allegation”? Why did you include it? Was it meant to distinguish from some other kind of allegation? If so, what kind is that?
An alleged allegation. It’s the difference between a primary claim and a secondary claim. If I say that someone told me you are a huge Jonas Brothers fan, that does not mean that someone has actually told me you are a huge Jonas brothers fan.
No, that post was off-point. Someone else in that thread made an accusation. There was no question that the person in that thread made the allegation. We don’t know that Jenn Sterger has made any allegation. We only have Deadspin’s allegation that she did, and Deadspin has not made any allegations independent of what it says that Sterger said. It is possible that Sterger never said any of that. Unless and until she confirms that she said any of that, then we have no allegation.
If I say that you told me Barack Obama is secretly a were-panther, that does not mean that anyone has actually alleged that Obama is a were-panther. I could be making it up.
Watch this
Someone told me that Aaron Rodgers likes to blow raccoons. I’m not saying I know one way or the other, I’m just saying someone told me that.
Does that mean that there is now an allegation that Aaron Rodgers likes to blow raccoons?
