Ok, I assume this some sort of internet joke, (like AYBABTU) or an UL, but I often have read a lot of people online saying, “I drank my lava lamp.” I have even seen it in the SDMB.
[li]If anyone actually did this act, wouldn’t it make them seriously ill or kill them?[/li][li]Has anyone actually done this act?[/li][li]If so, what did it do to them?[/li][li]WHY would anyone want to drink their lava lamp?[/li]If it is just a joke, or UL, how did it originate?
According to some wisenheimer columnist (How do lava lamps work?), lava lamps have 11 secret ingredients. (At a guess, these are different from the 11 secret ingredients of KFC. I could have sworn Cecil did a column on KFC secret ingredients, but the search function can’t find it.)
But it’s basically some kind of wax. Probably wouldn’t do you a lot of harm, but you never know. It may cause flashbacks to a Donovon concert or some other fate worse than death.
Second, it makes you poop funny for a long time.Read the warning on a bag of “wow” chips. Same-same.
Third, it makes you feel pretty bad. Well, it made me feel pretty bad. OK, it may be the multiple adult beverages I consumed before the Lava Lamp. Look at the shape of a Lava Lamp and a bottle of Miller High Life- you’ll have an idea, anyway, of how someone might accidentally drink one.
dtilque,
Uncle Cecil did do a colomnn on KFC’s 11 secret ingredients, its in one of the books. (Can’t tell you which one, I loaned all mine to my sister) If I remember correctly Uncle Cecil found that there aren’t even 11 herbs and spices. It was basically salt, pepper and something else I can’t remember, I think. Maybe someone has a better memory than mine.
You can make your very own lava lamp. Its discussed on the net & here on the board too, I think. Thats probably what they are referring to as you can use safer stuff.
