I was very amused by his claim that he has the best interests of children in mind when he opposes abortion even though he supports taking away their access to health care and putting them in internment camps. I wonder if he believes his own lies.
Ditka got his wish. He kept whining to the Mods every time I held a mirror to his idiocies. So he now has the privilege of being on my very select Ignore list. Nobody with a smidgen of intelligence is on that select list but I’d kept Ditka around because his posts are filled with such stupidity and *such *obvious hypocrisy that, like the canary in the coal mine, I found them a good indicator of the rabbit-hole down which the stupidest American voters are following.

He’s just following the standard dogma of the rest of his kind, which is to profess to care deeply about children right up to the moment of birth. After that, as soon as the umbilical cord is cut, “personal responsibility” kicks in, and if the infant is a good Republican, he’ll get out there and get a job to earn his keep. Neonatal care and baby formula ain’t free. They’re also against public education for the same reason; the place for children is at the factories and steel mills, not publicly-paid liberal indoctrination camps where they teach socialistic sharing of toys, environmentalism, and even evolution.
I’ve concluded that the question of whether Hurricane Ditka is a shameless hypocrite or just incredibly stupid is a false dichotomy; in actual fact, he is both.

Since I’m subscribed to this thread, I saw your post before you deleted it, and agreed wholeheartedly. So, I was surprised that it was gone by the time I got home and planned on adding a thumbs up or whatever. I thought yours was good, from what I remember, although I guess mine is more Pit-like with all the cursing and ranting.
Ravenman, I can sort-of see arguing with HD, although I’ve stopped engaging with him since he’s so disingenuous when he argues (doesn’t address the point, nitpicks irrelevant details, Gish-gallops all over the place), but arguing with WF seems like a real waste of time. His baseline assumptions about how the world works are so bizarre that it’s like arguing in two different mutually-unintelligible languages. I really wish people just wouldn’t engage with him when it comes to economics, taxation, government roles, etc. I’m sure he’s just fine in the Game Room.
