His Kamala Harris gun thread is, as someone there noted, in the longstanding tradition of Bricker’s “look at the liberal hypocrisy!” threads. And like most of those it has immediately been shown to be one of those “Liberals are doing things at odds with my Liberal Strawman and therefore are hypocrites” arguments. And then it became the DrDeth show.
HD also dropped a steaming turd into the Buttigieg thread, despite the story (about Wohl and Burkman’s latest farce) being as fake as a cardboard dildo.
There was a point at which he could actually make a valid point about things but years of having to defend the indefensible have driven him into full-on troll territory.
I love this plan. I’m excited to be a part of it.

Yes, obviously that was posted in bad faith. I mean Acey believed it but Acey is very dumb. (And the sad thing is, in a room of average Trump supporters Acey would look like Aristotle. But I digress.) HD is much smarter than Acey. (So are a couple of cats I know.) There is no way he believed that story. He only posted that piece of obvious bullshit to troll the libs/help the far right spread a viral rumor.

It’s pretty textbook, really. Check out the posts he’s made. He’s got more posts than anyone else in this thread. He came in and started needling - not talking about the topic, just throwing out rather inane nonsense on the side - until someone took the bait. I’m sorry that was me, and I pledge to try to do better in the future. At no point does he even attempt to address the topic of the thread. He just trolls and tries to drive it off topic.
I was up in the air between posting this here and in ATMB but at this point it’s clear the mods do not give a flying fuck and will allow this behavior to continue regardless, and the best I can do is just whip myself until there’s a pavlovian fear and disgust response towards taking the bait.

Not really. At no point does he actually address the topic. Post 17 does nothing to answer the OP - it’s a bad clarification to other posts that, in and of themselves, do little to nothing to address the topic. Post 11 was by Velocity.
Sorry, I didn’t realize threaded mode changed the numbering of posts. I should have typed [POST=21628226]#18[/POST] and [POST=21630007]#57[/POST], and the Ivanka post was [POST=21628128]#14[/POST], but the links still work. And while HurricaneDitka did not answer the OP, he did offer his opinions on other poster’s answers. In my book that’s OK, even if the actual substance is a one-liner, because I consider relevant comments about an on-topic post to be on-topic.

In my eyes this is an invalid criticism of snoe’s argument. snoe replied so much, and could have ended at that but instead adopted the straw man for the sake of argument. You also decided to address the straw man instead of pointing out that it was a straw man and leaving it at that.
If HurricaneDitka has a pattern of derailing threads with invalid arguments that might be a problem, but I’m new and won’t make such a judgement at this time. But I still think some of his other comments in that thread were fine. I could not say that his motivation for participating in that thread is to hijack the thread.
The question itself did not invite factual answers because it is essentially asking for predictions of Republican behavior in the future. Again, I’m new here and probably don’t understand board etiquette.

What I see here is pseudo-irrelevent needling. Throwing out little things as bait in the hopes that someone engages him in a subdiscussion that’s basically completely disconnected from the main topic. Which then happens - I (SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME ON ME!) take the bait, and from there the thread turns into people bickering over the (stupid) subdiscussion. Maybe it’s not quite as obvious in threaded mode.
This is such trolling 101 bullshit that it’s frustrating both that I fell for it and that the moderators keep tolerating it.
