I Found Le Petomane Books!

Yup. I found them in the thrift store just the other day. There they were on the book shelf. Three slim volumes, two from 1967 and a reprint from 1985. All in very good condition with their dust jackets intact.

So, who wants to trade something cool for one of these fabulous bibliographic specimens? I’ll be keeping one for posterity (as it were). There’s some special Nikon camera batteries (EPX 625) I need that I can’t get in California. Maybe someone would like to trade some for a book?

I just checked eBay and there is one of the reprinted editions listed for $19.[sup]99[/sup]. The eBay seller has misidentified his volume as an original edition. His date of 1985 is preceded by mine dated from 1967. The high bid has been placed, appropriately enough, by someone named “slimesucker.” Mine are identical or similar to the edition in the link.

Any takers?

Why, you didn’t already have one? I have mine on the bookshelf, alphabetically right next to Mary Pickford (who has an odd look on her face to be in such company).

Well, I would like a Le Petomaine book, but I don’t know what I have that would make a good trade.

What about:
“Storeyville, New Orleans Being an Authentic, Illustrated Account of the Notorious Red Light District” by Al Rose (a musician) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0817344039/102-5148161-2975300?vi=glance- uh, actually, I think I’d like to read that again.

"100 Years of Western Wear " by Tyler Beard (really!) (Cowboy Cool) http://www.addall.com/Browse/Detail/087905591X.html

“The Poets of Tin Pan Alley A History of America’s Great Lyricists” by Philip Furia http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0195074734/102-5148161-2975300?vi=glance

or

“Special Cases Natural Anomolies and Historical Monsters” by Rosamond Purcell http://www.raintaxi.com/online/1998spring/purcell.shtml

I’m guessing they’re books on Le Petomane, and not by him. A book by him would have to be an audiobook.

Or a scratch n’ snif.

I’ll check on the batteries. I’ve the perfect room for that book.

Ca3799 and (especially) lieu, you are most welcome to join the fray over these prized items. lieu, I can only wonder to myself why I didn’t just email you first and get it over with! Ca3799, as a collector of cowboy hats (Stetson wide brims), I’m interested in your edition of, “100 Years of Western Wear.” However, I really need those batteries, so keep up the bidding, lieu! So far, you both are in safe territory, since I have two volumes to trade.
