I was watching the “House of Whacks” episode on the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror DVD and noticed that in this episode, one of the UltraHouse installerbots (the one that says “Did you see those drapes?” bears a striking resemblance to The Iron Giant…

the installerbot has the same “noseridge”, same “steamshovel” style jaw, same ringneck, and same arm modules, since he’s clothed, it’s hard to tell if the rest of the body design mirrors the I.G., but seeing as Brad Bird writes for the Simpsons as well as T.I.G. i thought it was a nice subtle reference

What a coincidence. I’ve never seen the movie, but bought it today on a whim. I hear it’s quite good, I’m going to watch it tonight since there’s no school tomorrow.
