If you don’t like it, don’t watch.
You are displaying an extreme level of dumbshittery here. I don’t care if you’re defending Fox, or not defending Fox. You used them as a source. It is perfectly valid for other posters to attack the validity of that source, one-lined or not. If you can’t understand that, it’s not me that’s not doing the thinking around here.
Just to cite an example from the last couple of days, Fox has repeatedly reported that a certain doctor in the Schiavo story is a “Nobel Prize nominee.” In fact he is not a Nobel nominee and as far as I know, Fox has still never corrected that.
I don’t watch Fox News. I don’t get any of my news from television. I think the whole slate are high on emotional imagery and low on facts.
The problem is that lots of other people watch it and believe it and fuck up the country by voting for chimpanzees who lie us into wars or by storming a hospice and trying to deprive people of their right to die in peace.
By the way, carnick I have to question the wisdom of opening a pit thread specifically so people can talk about something you’re sick of hearing about.
You claiming something is not a cite.
Perhaps this will suit you?
And I’d like to add:
My bolding, of course.
That link is hilarious and sad at the same time. What’s really disgusting is how Hannity repeats the “Nobel Prize” bit ad nauseum. Fucking liar.
As to the OP, I’m for the snarks. Fox News is so unreliable that citing them should be treated on par with citing Sylvia Brown. I hope snide posts and ridicule accompany every Fox cite on this board.
Screw the Fox-posters. Let penis ensue!
Did the BBQ Pit suddenly change format and become a forum for people to open threads about stuff they enjoy? Why wasn’t I told?
I’m getting sick of seeing Pit threads complaining about other Pit threads. I just may open a Pit thread about it.
How many of those threats say, “I don’t want people to complain about _____”?
Threads. Not threats. Threads.
Your squirming is pathetic.
He didn’t tell you what to complain about. He’s saying that the Fox News sniping is repetitive, tiresome, usually unnecessary to an informed individual, and as such is patronizing if it is made to an informed individual. The majority of the people on this board are pretty well-informed. It’s a shame that you have to dilute the level of intelligence with the kind of petty sniping that Carnick refers to in the OP. You’ve all done a fine job of splitting hairs and veering of the subject to address the issue of some doctor that wasn’t nominated for a Nobel Prize even though Sean Hannity said he was. Yes, you’re arguing about something Sean Hannity said to be true. Once again, who is the bigger fool?
And Diogenes, your attempt to associate fringe activists who are storming the hospice where Schiavo is with being victims of Fox News brainwashing is one such example of a petty snipe. Actually, wait, you’re right Diogenes … it’s all Fox’s fault! First they won the presidency for Bush and now they’re motivating activists to go save Schiavo. It’s makes it so much easier to snipe when you label them using the political media as a backdrop. If you really believe that any one media network, even Fox, is solely responsible for dictating the actions of extreme activists at a hospice, you need to go outside and take a look around, take a deep breath and come back to reality.
Not as pathetic as your trolling, asshole.
So far I’d say it’s a tie between you and carnick. Maybe you can do a rock-paper-scissors to see who wins.
This is the problem, I think. If someone has already been made aware that source X has, shall we say, “reliability concerns” that can be backed up with several examples, and yet they continue to use cites from source X, that person is acting out of willful ignorance and so should be called on it. Either that, or they haven’t gotten the message yet, in which case they’ll need reminding anyway. Silence is tacit acceptance in these cases.
This is of course ignoring the issue of whether someone thinks source X is a valid source or not in the first place, since that’s not what the OP was about.
I’ve got rock, how about you, Carnick?
