They was a little wobbly, but I quickly identified the key spot for a couple of fresh bolts. A little engineering, stuff I had on hand, and a few minutes of labour-of-love and I got a killer set-up outside.
The Crew tried to Recreate the Father’s Day Debacle, but to no avail. These were skinnier and they couldn’t ingress below the arms. Strictly a Frontal Assault, which I was able to repel.
These chairs are so awesome for chillin’ in the yard, drinkin’ beer and watching bats.
Nice score! I’ve sometimes looked at a piece of furniture in my house and remembered, hey, I got that on CL some X years ago for only Y dollars — cool!
I recently remodeled and got mostly new furniture and had a blast giving away the old stuff for free on Craigslist. People were so happy. I replaced my gas furnace with a heat pump last year. They HVAC company was going to just throw it out. I offered it up for free on Craigs and the guy who got it was literally in tears because his old one had gone out and he would have had to go into debt to get a new one.
Yeah, we gave away a perfectly good washing machine on the NextDoor app. The dryer had died and my husband wanted to replace the whole set. The people who took the washer said they’d just bought one that was giving nothing but trouble, so I was glad it was going to a good home!
I’m surprised you weren’t besieged by people who wanted to re-sell your stuff and make money off of your generosity. But then, I’m kind of a cynic. And then I have to remember the time I got a 6-drawer Ikea chest for free from a neighbor on Nextdoor, and I still have it. It just happened to be the right size, and barely showed any signs of use.
Well maybe that’s why they were happy. I didn’t interview them. If someone took my beat up end table and refinished it and then sold it, I wouldn’t begrudge them a bit.
