Some of you may know I work for a not-for-profit and don’t make a lot of money. Last year, though, we not only made budget but blew it out of the water! And so we get a small percentage of it back as
(drumroll)
bonuses.
It’s almost an extra paycheck! So this weekend…I’m finally going to get around to buying a bike for myself.
I bought myself a new digital camera last month. Very high-end, very pricy. I had told everyone to get me nothing but Best Buy gift cards for Christmas and my birthday so I could afford the thing.
Mid-February, I go there with my many-hundreds-of-bucks worth of gift cards and get the camera, but I still wound up having to put out $600 from my own pocket.
Two days later, I get my paycheck, along with a surprise $600 “hey-good-job” bonus.
When I was a child, I loved bike riding. Dismounting was always a problem as it was my mother’s old bike and way too high up for me to brake properly. My solution was to abandon ship and let it careen into the side of the house.
