Trust me, you got the job. Pretty much once they’ve called you for an interview you have the job, unless you really screw it up. They ain’t talkin dress code for nothin.
I suppose things could really go awry for them and I’d actually be wrong, but I don’t think so.
If you lived in Illinois, I’d be scared! We even have signs up about Y Tu Mama Tambien all over the place!
I figured this was a local thing, because we have parents who high-pressured all the local record stores into carding people who are buying a CD with an explicit lyrics sticker.
Heh, I haven’t started working there and already I’m referring to it as “we” and “my movie theater.” Thanks so much. I was really getting worried about the customers. Rude old easily offended rich people aside, I’m excited about working there. The fact that I get to see great movies for free and the starting salary is $7/hour also has some influence.
Besides, this way I don’t have to pretend I care about a live-action Scooby Doo movie.

Is there some age you have to be before the stores that card will sell you a CD with explicit lyrics? The record store where I used to work had an age policy, but it was only that you had to be 13, IIRC. They were all about keeping filth away from minors.

You had to be 18 where I lived, and I’d bought explicit lyrics CDs before my 18th birthday. When I asked them why they wanted to see my driver’s license, the guy behind the counter explained that they’d had parents complaining, so now the new local policy was not to sell stickered CDs to minors.
You got the job. There is no way in hell they would talk about the dress code or scheduling if you weren’t going to get it. Having done some hiring and having been through alot of interviews I know that if they aren’t interested they will end the conversation politely and give you the dreaded ‘We’ll call’ line.
As far as dealing with the customers goes remember that no matter how angry or upset the customer is it is nothing personal. For some reason some people believe that if they yell, scream and insult people they will get what they want. Though I doubt that you’ll have to deal with many angry customers.
