I got a room at The Murray Hill East

I’m attending a Microsoft traning seminar on June 9th, 10th and 11th at Thinklpath Training 195 Broadway, Suite 1801

Now I know the hotel is at 149 East 39th Street so whats the best way to get from Penn Station to the Hotel so I can drop off my bags, then go to training from the hotel?

Two nights there is running me a total of $153.17 including room, processing fees and taxes did I get a good deal or did I get ripped off?

Well, a cab from Penn Station to East 39th St would be less than 5 bucks - that’s with the tip included!
$153 for two nights is pretty damn good for Manhattan!

Oh, and the best way to get to the seminar from the hotel is take the downtown 4, 5 subways from Grand Central terminal (which is about 3 blocks away from your hotel) and get off at Fulton Street subway stop.

The commute should take around 7 minutes or so.

Thank you for the Subway directions. So I come up out of Penn Station, hail a taxi to the hotel, drop my stuff off because check in isn’t until 1pm and I’m getting in at 8am then exit the hotel, walk to Grand Central Terminal (Isn’t that the same as Penn Station?) go downtown on the 4 or 5 and get off at Fulton, then ask someone there which way to head. Got it

Manny, sometimes hotels will let you check in early if the room is ready - doesn’t hurt to ask.

No, Grand Central is not the same as Penn Station!

Grand Central is not only a lovely old train station (they tore the original Pennsylvania Station down - bastards), but it is located at 42nd St and Park Ave (with entrances on Lexington Ave, also) Ya can’t miss it, it’s HUGE! And Penn Station is right by Madison Square Garden on 34th St and 7th/8th.

Thanks for fighting my ignorance. I’m just a hick from Joisey LOL

Heh.

Not a prob.

Good luck!
