Maps of New York Penn Station, or directions

Are there any maps available on-line that give the layout of Penn Station in New York City?

I’m going out with a bunch of people Saturday night, and I just realized that I may be faced with the prospect of getting from the 34th street subway station on the A line to the NJ Transit platform in the wee hours of the morning with less than 10 minutes to make my connection. My memories of Penn Station from previous visits are of a dimly-lit rabbit warren with inadequate signage, so a map would be desirable. But my Google-fu has failed me and I can’t find anything like this on the MTA’s website either.

So does anyone know where I might find a map of the station? Failing that, can anyone direct me between those particular two points?

I’m not aware of any maps of the interior of Penn Station. However, I can direct you. It is pretty easy.

You will want to get off the A train at its downtown end (the back if you’re heading uptown and the front if downtown). If you don’t get on the downtown end of the train, you’ll want to walk downtown on the platform (follow the signs to Penn Station).

When you get off the A train, you’ll be in the lower (LIRR) level of the station. Head toward the main part of the station. On your right you’ll see a large LIRR train announcement board. Just past that, you’ll see a staircase going up on your right.

Go up the staircase and down a short corridor, and you’ll find yourself in the main Amtrak/NJ Transit area of the station. You should see the large central announcement board with your train’s track, and it also will be on the small monitors all around. Most likely your train will be on a track all the away across the main area, but it should be easy to find.

Good luck and enjoy your trip into the City.

I can’t believe you had a chance to title a thread “Lead Me Into Penn Station And Deliver Me From Evil” and missed out on it . . .

Thanks!
