I got a spare copy of DQ4... now what?

Oddly, two relatives got me the same Christmas gift… but one didn’t sent it to me until now.

It’s a copy of Dragon Quest 4, unopened and all. Well, one of them was opened in alte December. But what do I do with the other one. It looks like the game place will give me a rather small amount of money for it. Any ideas?

eBay that sucker. Or give it to me. It’s all good.

If it’s still in factory sealing, I’m led to understand the WAL*MARTs (in my area, at least) will be willing to give store credit for it on the assumption that it was an unwanted gift.

It’s such a good game you should play it 6 times. Get everyone to level 99 on all 3 saves on both disks! (I mean, they aren’t big enough to be cartridges, and they kinda look like floppies, so…)

If you do bring it to one of the specialty game stores, try looking for a copy of Dragon Warrior 7 for Playstation. That seems a fair-ish trade, and 7’s job/monster system is capable of consuming a couple hundred hours easy.

My only trouble on the copy I’m actually playing is the fact that well, there’s no practical way to get the village going. Parhaps one day Japanese game makers will learn that their fans (particualrly for classic titles) are not tween Japanese in big cities, who can just walk around hoping for a connection. That also has made trades in Pokemon games almost impossible.

Ugh. Yeah, that’s one of the things that bugs me the most about hand held special features. Perhaps the single greatest feature in the new Pokemons is global trading/battling over WiFi. I think, going forward, that adding WiFi to more DS games is the best bet of recreating features the Japanese take for granted, but it isn’t quite as good as walking through Tokyo.
