I’m sorry to hear that, but hang in there. Is it getting noticeably worse?
Wishing you better luck soon.
I’m so sorry; this must be incredibly scary. And I’m furious at the antivaxxers making the situation even more stressful. I’d wish a pox on them, but knowing how they are they’d just spread it to us.
Rooting for you!
Of course you are worried.
When I had MRSA I required a surgical procedure followed by a three month recovery. That statement is not to frighten or worry you, but to tell you that overcoming such an infection and recovery can take more time they we are accustomed to. Multiple doctor visits were required. I recovered fully (aside from a barely noticeable scar).
I hope the doctor has good - or at least not bad - news for you on Monday.
You still have my best wishes.
Continue to take care of yourself.
Best wishes.
Horrible horrible news. Here’s hoping for the very best, You’ve been here a long time and your loss would be too great.
To the OP: Did they give you any IV antibiotics? If not, they’re probably pretty sure it’s localized.
Fingers crossed for you.
That’s really all I can say without forcing the mods to do more than scold me in this forum.
Checking in - any progress today? I’m no doc, but make a plan to go to an urgent care or hospital if symptoms begin to get worse.
It may be getting worse.
I see the Doc again Monday.
Injections.
3, over the week.
Best wishes for you.
Not a doctor, but I ended up in Emerg about 10 years ago with a funny swelling and discolouration on my elbow. They diagnosed it as Septic Bursitis and had to administer IV antibiotics for a couple of hours and repeated the next day. They sent me home with an IV saline lock and I had to return to the hospital for a second dose 24 hours after the first. A follow up of a week of oral antibiotics cleared it up.
I presume they’ve typed the infection and are using a targeted antibiotic.
I’m so sorry you haven’t seen improvement yet. Here’s hoping that get’s turned around very soon.
Keep us posted. You’re in my thoughts.
You’ll see the doc tomorrow. I am confident you’ll get through this. Just do the things that will keep your immunity up for the time being: rest, fluids, moderate exercise, nutrition. See the doc tomorrow. They will obviously do whatever they can to make sure that this gets attention and aggressive treatment.
Be sure to double mask when you are in the treatment facility so that you avoid COVID. Come back here for emotional support - we got your back here.
I got ahold of the doc’s office, & moved the appointment up to the AM.
I’m thinking of you. My very best wishes and please keep us updated.
Continuing best wishes.
Do keep us updated.
Chiming in: ditto on all counts.
