I Got My Google Class Action Suit Settlement Check Today!

Mine was $3.97. :stuck_out_tongue:

Whoa, whoa, whoa–check out the 1%er!

Brother, can you spare a dime?

DMark, I think you should frame it, but make sure the frame is just the right size for step 2: sticking 55 pennies on the frame itself. Purpurine and other glittery decorations optional.

“Pay to the order of … Batsinma Belfry … three dollars AND NINETY-SEVEN CENTS!”

If not frame it, scrapbook it along with a printout of this thread. Also jot down some estimates of the costs of printing it out. Put it with other oddities of this era. If trying to do the same for my descendants, the way people hang onto green stamps and confederate bills.

[OT]Elemenopy, I adore your username.[/OT]

My was one cent!

Can someone refresh my memory on what the lawsuit was about?

I got one for .04. After googling to make sure it wasn’t some sort of scam to get my associated bank account number I decided I’m going to cash the darn thing too.

Can’t believe they’d go to the expense of mailing out all those micro checks, I would imagine they count on millions of people just tossing them out.

Darn, you missed Mitt’s shindig in the Hamptons. Oh, well, I’m sure you’ll have other opportunities. (Tip: Inquire as to the location of the VIP Entrance prior to arrival.)

That’s the beauty of my 55 cent windfall - I am not all that sure either.
I think it has to do with way back when, I used GoogleAds to hype up a website I used to run. The way it works is you pay a certain amount each time someone clicks your ad.

If I am not mistaken, there was a bit of a scandal about people (often competitors) running up your costs by maliciously clicking on your ad, thus costing you more money, and Google not doing anything to stop this.

Then again, maybe this is for the times I Googled for “free money” and they finally took pity on me.

Yep, it was about the Google ads. I had a retail clothing site back then. I had to pay .10 per click, just to keep it within the first 5 pages of search results. But my advertising budget was only $20 per week. Needless to say, Google ate through my profits.
