Woohoo!!!
Yep,sure is.Hope it’s as long lived as the Singer Mom gave me.It’s pushing 50 something and you can still get all the parts.
So what’s your first project going to be, Guinastasia?
Ooooh, shiny new toy! What fun! I love my two basic, vanilla, elderly Elnas beyond reason, but the lure of decorative stitches would lead me astray!
Looks like it has an automatic needle threader…I grew up having to thread machines by hand, and now that I’m older and my eyes aren’t as good and my hands aren’t as steady, I really LOVE the threader on my new machine. I like the decorative stitch assortment, too.
Congratulations! Have fun.
Enjoy! I donated a sewing machine today, so the balance of the universe is maintained.
Cool! I just got my mom’s 1951 Singer up and running. I’ve successfully hemmed a pair of pants and repaired two others. My next project is Holstein cow curtains for the kitchen, so that people can’t peek in and see what a mess it is.
Yep, automatic threader, drop in bobbin, etc.
I’m going to practice some stitches, and I think I’m going to start with some pillows and scarves-a coworker asked if I could make her one.
(For my sister’s birthday next month, I’m going to make her a pillow with musical notes embroidered on it-she’s a music major. No, it’s not an embroidery machine-I do hand embroidery)
I’m also going to try some of those “sew-easy” type patterns, with a simple skirt. And pjs. You can never have enough pjs.
Nice machine!!!
I could make some very nice kites with something like that!

Did you look at embroidery capable machines and was your decision based on price or preference for hand skills?

Preference for handskills, price, and the fact that I wanted something simple. I don’t really need an embroidery machine.
