Did you have after effects like I did? The anxiety during was a piece of cake. My mother, who had to drive me*, said I was calmer than she’d seen me at home. That’s why I was so happy.
*I don’t have a license for various reasons that I might mention some other time. And I know that (re-)learning how to drive is too big a step.
I used to be angry that the doctors I took my son to didn’t try different medications with him. Now that he is doing better handling his anxiety, I realize what a bullet we dodged. His therapist taught him some CBT exercises to combat panic attacks with. My son is very quick to tell people that he will never take benzos.
T, Don’t worry about driving. I didn’t drive till I was in my 20’s. I couldn’t afford a car and a friend showed me when I bought my first 150 dollar car. It was a piece of cake and when the time is right you will know it.
