I guess I still have it

Why the freaking dance? Why not just say what you think? That detail, for you, throws the rest of the story into suspicion? Really? That really doesn’t seem that weird and not so weird as to make the rest of the story implausible.

No, other parts make the story sound fishy. I danced because it wasn’t a big deal. Even if he is fudging a bit, that’s ok. I don’t mind a good yarn that much. But when the responses from other posters start getting bizarre, it gets harder to hide my suspicions.

Bravo! I laughed so hard, some pee came out I think.

Absolutely brilliant!

Tough crowd notwithstanding, that was totally worth it right there!

Unless you were mocking me. In that case, you’ve entered a world of pain. Pain, I say!

No, it’s not. You don’t simply turn around to a group of men and tell them “that’s enough. You’re done.” Ducati basically called them out and the kids should have replied with, “or else what?” Because the fact of the matter is the guys were minding their own business, but Ducati was just so offended by their naughty words that he had to go and start something.

It wasn’t his place to say something, he should have told the managers. At the very least, he could have done it with a bit more respect. If he would have done that, and events turned out the way they did, he would have my full support. But he didn’t.

Then, the guy spills a drink on him. Ok, I get that he crossed the line there. That was blatantly offensive. But lets be real here. A spilled drink ain’t going to hurt nothing but his feelings. Ducati had yet another chance to take the high road and he blew it. He went over and got physical with the guy.

So it’s not bullshit. Like I said, you can reasonably see this from both angles. Sure, the kids were being obnoxious jerks, but to act like Ducati is some kind of good guy here is the real bullshit.

I love you. Will you marry me? We’ll be the inter-racial couple from that show. Yes, I’m as much of a dork as he was.

Back off honkey! I’m king of the MOL fan club and I’ll be marrying her!

This entire tread, from OP to delicious honey discussion, is killing me. I’ve laughed like this in a while.

Honey = honkey :-/

Ducati… you gotta get out of the suburbs man… glad all went well. Man. you can get a felony in the burbs for almost anything… if i tried to pre-lim someone on a thrown drink I’d get laughed out of Magistrate Court… .

I think Bob wants to have a chat with you MOL…

But he is an expert in confrontation. Remember the recent thread where he almost got into a fight in a bar for hitting on the wrong girl? O bet he thinks HE shouldhave faced charges too.Along with the ‘kid’ he infuriated.

I thought he was older…I have Malcolm McDowell in my mind.

BTW…15 is not ‘a child’. Its a teenager. And some 15 year olds are physically mature. If you can impregnate a female you are no longer a child.

All this fantasy tale needed was for the police to NOT be impressed and instead try to give our hero grief for “taking out the trash” (said in an old school Clint Eastwood snarl, natch). The officer would demand to know who was overly aggressive diner who started a brawl at a fast food restaurant over next to nothing?

His fellow Steak & Shakeans, grateful for his brave service against no-no words, would stand in turn on a tabletop and shout out “I am Brawling Oldfarticus!” “NO! I am Brawling Oldfarticus!” and on and on. In the end the officer would leave, admitting defeat, as he was bested by the best of them: Ducati the vigilante warrior. I await the next installment of his life as a fearless badass. How many does this make for him now?

The whole thing reads like a bad episode of Walker, Texas Ranger complete with cringe-worthy dialogue. There’s a lot I could quote but this one in particular is just singing with OMG cheese.

Jaysus Christmas, that is high comedy.

whaaaaat?. You doubt the story of the Steak-n-Shake Vigilante?? You crazy-assed n-n-never mind.

Wasn’t Ducati who had the run in with the “Large Angry Negro”? Something to do with his dog got ran over or something?

Ducati does have a knack for finding himself in some quagmires.

You sir got a pretty good memory except its not that good. You must have forgot the part after I got spit on when I walked away, told the bouncers, they threw him out and that was the end of it. Also, I didn’t even hit on that girl. Nice try.

Hey, Crotch-Rocketeer? A moment of your testosterone-drenched time?

Spilling a drink is a rude move.

Wrist twists followed by kneeling onto someone’s rib cage is assault.

You’re not only a bully, but you’re an asshole, pal. " Terrorist Threats" ?? Really?

My, my, my. Feelin’ pretty good about the lessons your kids learned too, aren’t you?

  • Use your fists, not your brains.
  • Might makes right.
  • Stand Your Ground.
  • Publicly assaulting and humiliating another makes you the better person.

So… When your kid beats up someone who used only words against them and gets arrested, your parental response will be…logically and based on your O.P., it would be to go down to the station and beat up the arresting officer.

Or someone else.

Or your wife.

Don’t worry, you’ll get to beat up someone.

What a specimen you are. :dubious:

You "guess I still have it " ?? Oh, don’t worry. You’ll always have it.

Of course the one black kid was muttering to his all white friends about crackers. He was at Steak n Shake. My brother always gets the chili there too, but they never give you enough crackers.

Yeah, and Mayor Mike hasn’t made it any easier on you. He tried, but the courts struck him own.

" Do ya feel lucky punk? Well, do ya? Because in all the fuss and flying straws, I can’t remember if I spilled 32 ounces on you or the full 48. I’m not too sure if I have another 16 ounces in this cup. So, the question is, do you feel lucky ??? "

ducati stands on a wall and says no black Sk8terboi is going to say bad words near you tonight.

So you’re saying that we don’t have a right to confront people that abuse us? I will also point out that the punk started the physical confrontation. Reading the OP, I don’t know what ducati was going to do but the punk threw the first shove.

Here’s what I don’t get about your reaction to this. According to you, ducati was out of line for using words like “Shut your fucking talkhole.” but the guy throws a drink on him and ducati is supposed to ignore it. How about the punks ignoring ducati rather than throwing a drink on him?

And just for clarification, I don’t think anyone is claiming ducati is a “good guy”. I think most of us agree that the way he talked to the punks was a little aggressive given the situation. But he was certainly not in the wrong. The one who assaulted him with the drink, the one who tried to shove him and the one who threatened to cut his throat were clearly in the wrong and they were made to suffer consequences for their choices.

See this is where all of the ducati bashers lose the argument because you have to posit that he was in the wrong for:

  1. Telling the other adults to STFU in an aggressive way
  2. Confronting the person that threw a drink on him
BTW: none of which is illegal
And yet you have to excuse or condone
  3. The guy throwing a drink on ducati (escalated and I believe the consensus is an assault)
  4. Shoving (or trying to) ducati Definately illegal and now he initiated a physical confrontation.
  5. Threatening to kill him. Definately illegal.

Some others (not you) have also said that being arrested “ruined their lives”. Since when is holding people accountable for their crimes and in this case felonies a bad thing?

Seems like a somewhat manichean worldview. It’s actually quite possible for two parties to both be in the wrong. I don’t recall anyone condoning what the “punks” did, or more specifically what they are alleged to have done. It’s just that they didn’t come here to share the story with us. You’ve also left out the possibility that we disbelieve one or more elements of the story. Not everyone is an unbiased reporter, especially when a particular version of events seems so important to one’s aging self-esteem.
