Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (I used to watch fairly often but haven’t tuned in in years)
(And of course I’ve seen most of the game shows on the list. That’s My Jam is the only one I haven’t seen)
I have not yet seen, but are on my list and will watch when I have time in my schedule:
The Bear
Only Murders in the Building
Beef
The Last of Us
The Diplomat
I know, right? I was actually kind of happy to hear about the strike, because it will give me time to get through my backlog of shows I want to watch but haven’t gotten around to.
I watch that, too. It’s a good show; maybe not quite Emmy worthy given the quality of all the competition, but very good.
I love that one! And John McEnroe’s a hoot as the narrator. At first I was like, “What’s John Freakin’ McEnroe, of all people, doing in this?” But then I was like, “Hey, yeah, it works!”
I mean, I hate sports. I was pretty bummed when I tuned in for the first time and realized it’s about a sports coach. But by the end of the first episode, I was intrigued, and by episode 2 I was hooked. Ted Lasso is unique to other shows because it’s about a good man and how he influences the people around him to be better, too. After being inundated with these shows that center on awful people, it’s so damned refreshing.
Thought this article might be of interest to some of the folks here:
I’ve always had the same problem with the Emmys (and other major awards). It feels like the focus is always pretty narrow. Usually a few shows dominate and steamroll all the categories even when there are many deserving options out there.
That said, the only real surprise for me after reviewing the list was Obi-Wan. I love the Star Wars universe but that one left me scratching my head.
