No…it’s the combination of the title (including the word ‘hate’), the contents of the OP and where the OP chose to put the thread.
Why is it reasonable to hate ‘most anything’? Why is hate reasonable? Why would it be reasonable to hate a large, amorphous concept like ‘capitalism’?
So, you think that there should be a reasoned discussion with an OP who starts a flame thread titled ‘I hate Conservatives’, and you take exception to the fact that people have traded flame for flame with this idiot? Seriously? And you think that your position is the reasoned one?
If you want a discussion about why ‘conservatives’ are wrong, or why you dislike ‘liberals’, you should start a thread in GD to discuss it. This OP isn’t worth his own pit thread. He’s an arrogant little mega-weasel, which is fine…I like arrogant and don’t have a problem with mega-weasels. The problem is he is a STUPID, arrogant little mega-weasel who isn’t interested in debate at all…he is simply interested in spewing out his own uninformed and baseless theories about economics without regard to facts or honest debate. When confronted with someone who pricks his little fantasy bubble he generally responds with anger, with sarcasm, or with cites that make it clear he doesn’t understand the subject OR his own cites. And if the poster persists in calling him on his silly little theories he generally puts that person on ignore then declares victory (repeatedly, in thread after thread).

xt, you may not be aware of it, but you misunderstood what I wrote. The use of plural reverses the meaning. “Reasons” implies, as with the 2-sides stuff, a context similar to, e.g., a traditional salesman asking their prospect to make a two-columned array listing the reasons both for and against purchasing something. The existence of items on both sides does not imply that hatred (note nonplurality here) toward most anything (as a whole) is ok at all. Rather, merely that there are usually certain things about most anything one can find to nitpick or even hate.
Perhaps an example will help. I hate it when planes are late. But I don’t hate planes. I love planes. I hate trains overall, but love what they did in the 19th century. Is that more clear?
