Catsmeow you beat me to it!
Anyone who likes Snickers should try it. Put out a bowl of candy corn & peanuts and see how fast it goes.
What?
I was not informed. I am stocking up.
Candy corn is one of those seasonal things I try every year just to make sure I still hate it. I haven’t tried it this year yet, but it’s not quite Halloween yet. I’ve still got time to remind myself why they only sell this stuff for one month out of the year!
Oh, I love those things. Most of it ends up sticking to your teeth, but damn, are they good!
And the peppermint taffy at Christmas time. Yummy.
Candy corn-I can eat maybe a few pieces, and then it’s just gross.
The worst thing are people who give out those Little Huggy drinks. One year, a lolly pop stick punched through the peel off lid and it soaked my entire bag.
Bit of Honey tastes like the smell of a carpet store.
Bluuuug.
:Mr Pukey Smiley:
I like candy corn. I love Mary Janes. I love Bit-O-Honey. I even like popcorn balls.
Halloween is a good time for me.
I was the kid who ate last years cornball on Halloween. You, know the one cornball that you left in with last years take in teh plastic punkin and kept passing over. It lies forgotten and lonesome only until Halloween the following year.
Excuse me, but what the hell are you people talking about?
Candy corn and candy pumpkins. YUM!
LilMiss went to Orchestra Camp a few weeks ago armed with two bags of PixieStix. Ten preteen girls, hyper anyways, with over 300 Pixie Stix. Oy. One girl actually snorted a blue raspberry one (LilMiss has pictures and all). She is “officially over” her Pixie Stix addiction. She says.
But she isn’t going trick or treating this year, so that lets that out. All of her friends claim they’re too old for it, so they don’t want to go with her. I told her she can go with her cousins or her sister, but she’s acting like she’s too kewl for it.
I couldn’t stand candy corn even when I was kid. To this day I don’t see how something so bad for you could taste so bad.
I also hated (and still hate) Mary Janes, Pixie Stix, circus peanuts, Milk Duds*, Tootsie Rolls* and Sweet-Tarts. Oh, and big, white suckers! Yeesh.
*Chocolate treats that don’t taste like chocolate. But they’re chewy as all hell!
I’m madly fond of candy corn and other candy corn-esque candy (pumpkins and ghosts and bats,etc.). It’s pretty as well as tasty – I always have keep a bowl out in the fall. The Halloween candy I hate is Smarties. Yawn.
Thank you. I’ve never seen candy pumpkins, but candy corn is someting I can understand people eating. What do they consist of? I have to say that if I were to go out and beg for treats from my neighbors, I’d prefer the popcorn thing. Or a candied apple. Something that’s natural.
O how I do loves the candy corn…it’s divine I tell ya, especially when mix-ed with, not peanuts, but CASHews! That’s fine Hallowe’en eatin right there boy. Fact, I think I’ll stop by one of the 350 walgreens that are on my way home tonight, and get some to eat while I watch the Sox win the World Series.
Molasses Chew.
I like to buy Rice Krispy snacks and Cheese & Cracker packs. After Halloween I take them with lunch to work daily.
Another vote for YUUUMMMMYYY (though naturally, I can’t eat too many before the ardor fades a little–though Halloween’s the perfect excuse to rekindle the romance)
In the Maritimes, we called those “kisses”. I started a thread on it in Cafe Society (that I’m too lazy to search for but was about a week ago), because I made some homemade molasses taffy (that tasted way better).
It took a surreal turn though, and no one answered it, when either I or the taffy began to psychedelically trip out. I don’t do any drugs, but I had to think really hard about any past drug use I may have partaken in. I’m a little afraid of the stuff right now.
I thought kisses had the peanut butter flavor. They’re wrapped in orange and black papers, right?
Yeah, but, at least in the area I’m from, we call them all kisses. I don’t even know if they have a genuine brand name. I’ve never looked at the bag they come in. :smack:
