I hate it!!!!

Tis the season and I know I’ll be offered some of this yucky stuff. I hate candy corn! Tricolored candy with one bland flavor doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t even look like corn!!!

Thnks for listening.

What about those little candy pumpkins that taste like candy corn? How do you feel about those?

More for me. Would you like some carnuba wax with your corn syrup?

Send it to me! I love it. I like to eat some of the white/orange/yellow and the white/orange/black together.

If there’s anything better than candy corn, that’s it.

I prefer corn syrup with my Carnuba and food coloring, but I guess I’ll try a few.

I bites me off the little white tip, then I eats the rest.

And them punkins? Well, wheeee-doggy! Love them boys. You know they also make a white ghost one too?

Candy corn is good in small doses. Whoever put together those mini-packs with about seven kernels each knew what they were doing. Much more than that and the taste is just overwhelming. Also, not many candy corns are vegetarian so if I get offered any I turn it down just in case. The pumpkins are just too big and a ehole ball of that mushy candy corn texture? Ugh.

Now the Mary Janes peanut butter kisses in the orange and the black wrappers? Those are the bestest non-chocolate Halloween candy ever.

I’ll trade you all the popcorn balls I get for all the candy corn you get.

Yeah, not real big on the stuff, myself. However, it is once again time for the return of the pixie stix addict.

Yup! My mom was trying to be nice and bought a bag of Brach’s Peanut Butter Kisses. Nope. Ickickick. They have to be Mary Jane’s. Sadly, only available during Halloween at Walgreens.

And thanks to that thread, the MissTake family is now addicted to Pocky. Evil, delicious Pocky.

Thanks a lot Maureen. I just *had * to check out the Pocky site and they remind me of my addiction CADBURY FINGERS!!!

Oh - the almost bland biscuit, the chocolate…I’m gonna order online NOW!!!

Was gonna ask…
But you are still de-Pixie-ing Lil’ Miss this Hallowe’en, right? (and no falling for that “I love you, mommy!” stuff, either :p)

Well duh! That’s how you apposed to eat 'em

But how else will you make the comedy vampire fangs, than with candy corn?

And is there an analogous candy in the USA to the inedible, watered-down road tar-tasting so-called “caramels” that cheapjack householders give out in Canada? They were ultra-cheap, and of exceptional hardness. I don’t think any kid I knew ever ate them. They came in a waxy orange paper with black bats (the flying kind), IIRC. Foul.

The Holy Grail for us late-1960s trick or treaters was the mini O Henry. It may have been the only mini-chocoate bar available at the time, and to get one in the mishmash of homemade popcorn balls, rolls of coloured candy discs, and apples was a real score.

This is what my kids said when I attempted one year to give out "healthy snacks. I made another trip to the store - we know who ruled MY house.

I’d like to be the first in the thread to mention Lewis Black.
I won’t repeat his tirade, because I’m lazy. I’ll just repeat his name.

Lewis Black.
And I love candy corn. And I shall fight you to the end of the Earth.

I remember those! I was a kid in the 80s, and nobody liked them then either! They were so hard to chew, and had a horrible molasses flavour. I wish I could remember what they were called.

If it’s what I’m thinking of, they weren’t caramels, but “molasses candy”. A darker brown than a caramel, without the distinctive caramel taste. Definitely chewier. Not a square like a Kraft caramel, but like a shorter Tootsie Roll, but rounded. That stuff?

I kinda like them, and have been keeping my eye open for them.

They are/were cheaper than caramels, I think.

Kraft caramels are/were the best caramels.

Was it Bit O Honey? That stuff was nasty.
