I Hate Joakim Noah

So. . . he’s a goofy-lookin’ love child of “pedigree”, who seems to do well at one particular sport, but otherwise has no other contribution to society to date.

Given that, my official response to the OP: ::yawn::

Tripler
Oh look! More important things in life. . .

More important than the NCAA Basketball Tournament?

Well I love this little dude!

Go Noah!

Some good natured ribbing for the fellow Joakim haters:

Oh no!

Please don’t tell me the team FAVORED to win it all is playing the underdog “we get no respect” card!

Okay, Mr. Noah, who “hates” the Gators? The opponents, and their fans? Um, buddy, guess what, they only want you to lose so they win. Guess what, Gator fans didn’t want Oregon to win either.

Is nothing sacred? Look, George Mason can play the underdog card. A #1-seeded defending national champs returning all starters cannot!

no we’re playing the “everybody hates the favored team” card. Nobody wants the previous national champion to win again except for students and alumni of that school. Of COURSE everybody hates us, because we’re that damn good. Nobody thinks it’s a feat that we win, so everybody wants the underdog to win… thus, “Keep hating” because the Gator Nation is dominating.

Oh, now I got it!

It reminds me my alma mater’s run in the mid-90s: Nebraska football. We won it all in 94-95-97. Fans felt we were disrespected by the “east-coast biased media” and everyone who wanted us to lose. This was especially apparent in 1997 with Michigan sharing the title.

While I don’t want to remind you of 1995, many Husker fans today remember that “everyone” thought NU was the underdog leading up to that game. We weren’t, but have selective hearing when it comes to attributing a “media bias”

So, you just learned who he is through a message board, but you’re already an expert on his contribution to society?

And that relates to the pitting of him on an athletic level. . .how?

The most pathetic posts on this message board are the ones where people come into a thread to say they don’t care about the topic. Way to go.

I think he’s cute and I like his hair. Of course my friends’ TV where I watch him gets crappy reception so maybe that’s like airbrushing.

Not me. I hated 'em before it was cool.

Uh . . . huh. Suck it up, Princess.

I gave due attention where attention was due. The OP sucks: It’s vague, open to personal opinion, and just doesn’t make much damn sense. Apparently this guy is some sort of athlete. Whoop-de-friggin’-do! If I am in the wrong about athletics shaping world stature, by all means enlighten me. Otherwise, he’s an athlete that apparently sucks. If that were Pitworthy, we’d have an entire fuckin’ forum for each Goddamned “sport.”

Tripler
Uh . . . huh.

So, who’s going to start a thread about hockey, anyway? Buncha douchebags. :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s a quote from Joakim’s coach:

attended a different SEC school, eh?

@tripler: the point still stands that you made an ambiguous attack on the very concept of the OP without even attempting to address the specifics that it or the thread addressed. a thread being open to personal opinion is the very nature of the pit, IMHO, and GD, sooooo what’s your point?

seems to be accurate in this case.

Billions of people across the globe are interested in athletics, both participating and just being a fan. Athletics provide people with entertainment, a sense of belonging and acheivement, and a way for people to personally interact with others from all walks of life.

Athletics are part of human culture, and have been for thousands of years. It’s not like the Colosseum was something “important” like a homeless shelter.
