I love quick and easy recipes. Even more, I love shortcuts to make recipes easier without sacrificing taste.
But I can’t stand her personality, so I don’t watch her show.
Nope, me neither. Like I said, her books are great!
She’s one that grows on ya after awhile, imo. I liked her at first necause she was fun and bubbly - but it became annoying real fast! I hung in there, accepted the way she is, and knowing I can mute her or change the channel at any time is a big help =)

Now that bitch is really annoying. I don’t know anyone who likes her.
I dig easy to cook recipes that taste good, which is why I gravitate toward Alton Brown and Giada.
You know what I hate about Rachael Ray? The spelling of her first name.
I watched her only once, with my mother. She was making some pasta casserole dish, and kept saying over and over again, “This is a real gutbuster!” After the first dozen times she said it, I told Mom I’d put a brick through the television if she said it again. Mom changed the channel. Too bad, because the recipe looked good.
Ugh, no kidding. Something about her just rubs me the wrong way. I think it’s that she comes off as smug, phony, and pretentious to me. Plus, part of her show is always devoted to unbelievably stupid shit like hideous table decorations and whichever one of her gay friends is off to buy wine and/or flowers that afternoon.
I’m a Giada fan.
I think she actually does tip 15%, exactly 15%, at all of her sit-down meals. Which, when she’s tipping 89 cents on her $6 muffin and coffee breakfast, makes her look miserably cheap.
The whole premise of that show is stupid to begin with. Who the hell goes on vacation (or “va-kay” in RR speak) and only plans on spending $40 a day? Hell, the last time I was in Vegas we spend $40 on the salad at dinner.
Oh, to hear that voice say “you were great.” She’s cute as a button. Who cares what she sounds like?
I don’t watch TV, so I’ve never knowingly heard her.* Does she say “ee-vee-oh-oh,” which I can see would be annoying, or ee-voo, which would be funny?
- But she’s one of those characters who just filter into the culture and I end up knowing too much about them without ever having actually seen what they’re famous for. Like why do I know the names and personality types of the American Idol judges when I never have and never will watch one second of, or intentionally read anything about, that show?
You are saying that someone is phony and offer Giada as an alternative?! She is totally plastic. I mean she is hot and all that, but she is as fake as a 3 dollar bill. And I don’t care much about her cooking, to be honest (although I would eat any of it off her body). I have never watched the Barefoot Contessa for more than 5 minutes without falling asleep, but I really like her recipes and comments on her column (on House Beautiful, probably syndicated to other magazines).

And on this topic of plasticity, kudos to RR for being the honest girl that she is. Like her or hate her, she gives the impression of being 100% WYSIWYG. Every little thing one can find annoying about her, she knows it is annoying and she sees no need to change. That’s who she is.

*I allow myself this snark because at least half the problem is the angles they insist on filming her at - makes me wonder what hideous deformity is going on under her chin that we must always see her head in a fisheye.
Hmmm, I’ve tried a bunch - I like to be able to cook good things fast - and most of them SUCKED. Just terrible. Her Asian Glazed Wings are absolutely fantastic though. Incredible. Everyone should try them.
I can’t stand her otherwise though. I hope she doesn’t have throat cancer, but how would you tell? I thought her Maxim layout was super cute but since then she’s gotten overexposed and her resemblance to The Joker has intensified, and it just bothers me somehow.
I actually don’t know anything about either of their lives; I’m just going off the impression that they give me.
Plus, Giada gets points for being hot.
I want to use Rachael’s viscera to dress my tablescape.
Funny, I’ve never noticed her head 
Cut the macho show. She has a pretty face and her body is not that insanely hot (in celebrity scale). Of course you have noticed. (Add smilies necessary to make this a light jest and not a personal attack, of course)
As a guy, I really don’t understand the rabid hatred of Rachel Ray. The boss of me can’t stand her either. I don’t get it. RR gives off that ‘real girl’ vibe that a lot of guys I know like.
Whenever she smiles I imagine her doing it with her gorgeous, slightly oversized head framed by my pilllow, as she looks, longingly, up into my eyes. Okay. I’m done </Squick>. Heh.
