I really hate the bundling of cell phone plans. You have to have unlimited talk and text, plus more data than you need. I don’t talk or text much, and have no interest in paying for unlimited. And you have to have all three from the same company, preventing you from looking for deals.

I believe T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint all have data-only plans, but they may be “intended” for the hearing-impared and thus not heavily advertised.

Why not just get a second shed? Then, not only would you have sufficient storage space, everybody could call you “Two Sheds.”

But the part that burns me is that in a couple of years when the prescription expires if I want an identical pair of the glasses I now use for every thing I will not be able to get them. Prescription expired, you have to go back to the “Doctor” to get a new one.

Go to a place like Zenni Optical and order your glasses on line. If you have your prescription you just enter it in, and they have directions on fitting and things like pupillary distance.

FINALLY, I found one near my house taking new patients, and all i wanted was a checkup, and a tooth cleaning. They set me up with a “free” appointment after I filled out all my insurance forms, after the exam and ex-rays (not a big fan) the dentist went up and down about how I required a “deep teeth cleaning”. After about the fourth time asking she revealed I had zero cavities, after 10 years of not seeing a dentist!

A deep cleaning has nothing to do with cavities, it has to do with your gum health. Neglect your gums long enough you can lose your teeth, even if cavity free. And yeah, after 8 years of not seeing a dentist I can believe you need a deep cleaning. A regular cleaning is not going to deal with the problem(s) a deep cleaning does.

I was then referred to a saleswoman in the next room, who enthusiasticically told me there as good news. While my “deep teeth cleaning” would cost a whopping $3600, the GOOD NEWS was my insurance would cover $2700, so “only” $900 would come out of my pocket.

That does sound high. And I’m always suspicious of offices that push their financing.

I walked out of her office, and haven’t stopped by a dental office since. I since found out that a “deep teeth cleaning”, IF needed, is about a $1000-1500 procedure. Guess that goes up depending on how much insurance you have . . . .

I brush twice a day, use top of the line products, and actually, thanks to many of them, my teeth are pretty damn white. Ill wait unto I get a toothache before visiting one of these fucking shysters.

OK, fine, I just hope you don’t wind up like my mother who in her late 40’s was down to six teeth because her gums deteriorated to the point her teeth - still cavity-free - were literally falling out of her mouth. Granted, she was an extreme case, but gum disease can be pretty bad. Prior thread on dental deep cleaning. Another prior thread.

I strongly urge you to get a second opinion, or, if there’s a nearby dental school, ask them if they have a clinic you can go to. The work tends to be done more slowly, but there’s also no push-push-push for profit, either.
