I just wrote an extremely lengthy post AFTER LOGGIN IN, then hit SUBMIT, and it takes me to a page where I am supposed to login, and my post Disappears. Thank god for the fucking genius who implemented this system.
Oh, quit bitching. When that happens to me, I use the Back button, select my text, copy it to the clipboard, log in, then paste.
Use some imagination, ya lazy putz.
Over-react much?
Then go away.
I like pie. Do you like pie?
Mmmmm Pie
This used to happen to me a lot and I wept (how I wept) over the loss of those important, relevant, carefully-composed replies, but I found a solution; now I only ever post inane drivel - if the hamsters eat it, it’s no great loss.
Yeah, sucks when that happens, but such is life in the electronic age. In the future, before you try to submit anything, highlight it and hit “Copy.” If something crashes (either on the SDMB’s end, your own, or somewhere in between) you can paste it right back in.
Trouble is highlighting your entire post is one operation and copying it is another; in between the two, it is terribly vulnerable; a single accidental keypress of almost any key will destroy it.
Compose in Notepad or some other yexy editor.
Hey, me too! I also do a lot of me too posts. Makes me look like a sycophant and pads my post count at the same time.
Me too.
So I guess the hamsters saw fit to cull Cull’s post from the board.
[sub]Ha! I slay me![/sub]
Yeah, I know it wasn’t a very yexy post.
If you want my bo-day and you think I’m yex-ay…
Not me, ever.
I like pie!!!1
To paraphrase an old (very funny) SF story, I as a representative of the SDMB Citizen’s Comittee For Sarcastic Remarks would like respond: I am so saddened by your angst that
That’s how upset I am about your angst.
