I’m not sure if this is in the right forum.
Today, I heard a song called “Nora” by Blessid Union of Souls. I’ve heard it a few times before, but I listen to the words. It’s about this guy who’s grandmother is dying, and it causes him to view life in a different light, then she dies, and he’s remembering the impact she’s had on him. It almost made me cry. Keep in mind, I don’t cry. 16 year old boys don’t cry and this song had me on the verge of tears. Only one song has ever done that to me before, and it was the video to Jagged Edge’s “Goodbye.” But that was because of the dad having to leave his family.
This song though, I heard at the wrong time. My grandparents are getting up there in age, 67 and 66. My grandfather had surgery not to long ago, and my grandmother today was telling my younger brother and I what she want done after she dies. No flowers, but a mass once a month from each one of her ten grandchildren.
What song’s depress you, yet you feel it has helped you in some way?
For me, I will appreciate the time I have left with my grandparents, and not let the little, insignificant, material things pester me.
