After much research and consideration and test driving, I purchased a new Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6. Here’s the car, though mine is not that color.
Yes, I know many will think I’m a complete moron for buying new, but I like owning a new car and Hondas don’t depreciate as badly as other brands, though of course they still do depreciate. I got a really good deal, I think. (I hope.)
The process of buying a new car suuuuuucks, but owning a new car is fun! Tonight I’m reading the owner’s manual (seriously!) and tomorrow I’m going for a long drive to air it out. Very MPSIMSy, but it makes me happy so I thought I’d share.
P.S. All my cars have names, so suggestions for a name would be appreciated.
In my perfect world, I’d get a new Fit. Since I already have a Civic and a CRV, and technically own another Accord and an Integra (kids’ cars), I don’t think I’d better get one.
I hope you got the Belize Blue Pearl! Then you can call her Beliza.
Heh.
The color is Polished Metal Metallic (as opposed to what, non-metal metallic?). You can see the color here, just click the color square fourth from the left. (The link is to the 2009 Accord while mine is a 2008, but the body styling and available colors are the same.) I quite liked the Belize Blue Pearl, but the deal I got was for a car off the lot. They had three: Red (cool, but it came with back up sensors or some such unnecessary BS extra that I wouldn’t pay for); silver (the car I was trading in was silver, I wanted something different); and metal – oh, excuse me, metal metallic.
Good suggestions on names, but I’m feeling like this gray V6 growler is a boy car.
Anyone have XM radio? (I’m a bit worried that might sound like “Anybody tried that newfangled 'lectricity?”) I’m loving it. I think I’ll keep it once the free three month trial is over.
Congrats and a great choice. A great car and it is pretty green. Like most Hondas it scores well on the Smog scale. In your case, last years model had a 9 of 10. 10 being the cleanest.
Very cool, and I like the color. (And new car smell. Sigh.)
It’s a serious metallic. Vulcan? Though if memory serves, the god Vulcan was also lame, which really isn’t a good role model tire-wise. Valkyrie would be cool; gallant steed of the highways and byways, kicks butt and looks good.
I seem to be stuck on ‘V’ names.
Colt, as in the color of the barrel of the gun, though I feel Magnum would be cheesy. Too obvious, not to mention reminiscent of the 80s tv show.
Or heck, you could just dub it with a female name. I’m seeing an Emma–very worthy, in a bright, subtly sexy way.
I seem to suck at this. Every car I’ve owned has been called The Peanut. Not ‘Peanut’, The Peanut. Never mind. I’ll go away now.
