There at least used to be a Erika which drove me bonkers. (At the time I recall seeing her, I didn’t post much so I doubt that others confused us.) But not only do Erika and Eureka look much too much alike, the similarity of the words is where I got my nickname (and screen name).
There’s a Dag Otto and I think there’s an OttoErotic as well.

But not the only Roland. You and I both have a reasonable claim on that particular moniker, but that accursed Deschain outdoes both of us combined.
To that end, I believe a conspiracy is in order. With your gunslinging, and my…um…impersonation of a musician nobody likes anymore, together we can surely defeat Mssr. Deschain and force him, at gun- or guitar-point (hey, I sharpen mine; doesn’t everybody?) into a name change.
After that, of course, we’ll have to turn upon each other. 'Tis a battle I’m sure our fellow Dopers will await with bated breath.

I lurked for a long time (over a year) before I finally registered, and I didn’t remember seeing any users with names too similar to mine, so I thought it was safe.
Then later I startred noticing posts by [url=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php?userid=22316]Wearia[/ur]. Apparently I joined only five days after him/her. But they’re a more prolific poster (1,154 posts to my 348).

People used to confuse me with jarbabyj. Hell, I used to confuse myself with jarbabyj. I’d see a posting by her and think, “That doesn’t look familiar…when did I post that?” Of course, she was on here long before I was.
I don’t know if people confuse me with JayElle, I hope not. She’s very lovely but we’re very different.
Seeing someone named “Kaitlyn” made me do a double-take the first time. We both even seem to enjoy comic books. But it’s not a problem because I post once every seven years and she is much more prolific.
