I have a strange lump in my mouth

“Eight out of every 10 American adults are infected with the herpes simplex virus, or HSV”

From the site…

I’d go with the dentist deal. Especially if the lump is closer to a tooth than it is to the center of your mouth. You can have an abcessed tooth with no pain…for a while, but when the pain hits…down you go

I once had a small lump in the roof of my mouth when I was 6. The dentist took some X-rays and found out it was an abnormal tooth growing there. After 2 hours of surgury, they finally got the tooth out. Ugly looking thing, looked like a small spiky ball.

So it could be an abnormal tooth growing up there. Have fun.

…and remember, duct tape fixes all your problems, big and small.

It can also be a pimple. Some people get them on the roof of their mouth, albeit rarely.

Kelli- It’s probably nothing. Don’t let these blokes weird you out. If it’s bothering you, go to the Doctor or Dentist, whichever is convenient.

With magic, you can turn a frog into a prince. With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D, and you still have the frog you started with.

Does it fill with liquid (spit I mean) and then go back down, like just before a meal? I actually have one of these. I went to the dentist and he told me it’s common.

There are three kinds of people: Those who can count and those who can’t.

Um, statistica aside, I have NEVER had a cold sore, thankyouverymuch!

this lump isnt pimply in nature, it hasnt changed in shape or size…

BUT I havent been to a dentist in many years either so it is probably tooth related…

off to start another thread…

Because that will solve your problem how?

Okay, enough people have taken this seriously that I feel I can risk a smartass remark…

When I saw this thread, I almost didn’t want to read it, because I KNEW the subject matter wouldn’t live up to the title. (sigh)

I had a white lump in my mouth and didn’t even know it. My dentist spotted it during a routine tooth cleaning and sent me to an oral surgeon. The biopsy revealed that the little bump was malignant. That report was a real heart stopper. Oral surgery is not fun but if you need it, you gotta get it. Let a Dentist and/or an oral surgeon look at it ASAP. Don’t just sit around and worry about it, get on with it.
