The Dreaded Lurgie?
Well, thank goodness. My friend has it, and it is one miserable, incurable condition.
Best wishes for good healing, whatever you have!
On SDMB the urge to administer a well placed dope slap is a requirment, not a disorder.
Biggirl - I appreciate your need for privacy but you’ve put is an odd position. I won’t venture a guess but I will wonder.
Addison’s disease?
Celicac disease?
Fibromyalgia?
Crohn’s Disease?
Herpes?
Projectile flatulence?
If it is that…yer lucky. I wish I had that.
You know what they say…the grass is always browner…

Projectile flatulence?
That’s what Howard Stern’s alter ego, Fartman has. Legend says he ate radioactive, non-kosher beans.
Celophane Maculopathy?
I’m guessing Crohn’s disease
Gilbert’s disease? It’s the only uncommon, incurable, nonfatal disease that comes to mind. (because I have it)

I can somewhat aim my belches. Belch, but don’t release it until your victim is in shooting range, then nail 'em. Projectile belching, perhaps? Why would you want that cured?
There is this disease where your soft body tissues all turns to bone, really slowly. Sufferers eventually get completely rigid. Good lord, I hope THAT’s not it!
Labial elephantitis was a lovely guess, tho
Sarcanosis? (Sp?)
Yes, that phenomenon is known as Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva…a nasty, NASTY condition. As for Biggirl’s condition…verbal seizure migraines? I’ve gotten them before…can’t talk…can’t read…can’t do anything at all. With a migraine on top of it. Neat, huh?
Hey Biggirl, could you at least give us a hint? Is it a neurological disorder, such as Parkinson’s? An endocrine problem, such as diabetes? Something gastrointestinal, like Crohn’s disease or celiac sprue? There are literally thousands of incurable, nonfatal diseases out there.
No to everyone, although some people think I may have old crone’s disease.
Hint: Anemia, arthopathy and squamous cell carcinoma (!) are potential complications.
Question for all of you chronic, incurable diseases sufferers. How do you deal? Have you become completely suspicious of doctors as I have?
Hmm…Is it maybe Psoriasis?
It can cause Arthropathy, and since it’s a skin lesion, I’d assume it could cause cancer. My psoriasis blows. I hate it.

Psoriasis is not that uncommon.
I’ve gotta say, this board sure makes finding out you’ve got an uncommon and incurable disease a whole lot easier to take.
If she has Crohn’s disease, I think Crohn would want it back.
Hidradenitis suppurativa? whatever that is.
