I have bad taste. Please join me.

By the end of this year, I will officially be in my thirties. Today at work, I am wearing a brown t-shirt with a large picture of Luke Skywalker on it and a horrendous 70’s-style orange/yellow/tan border. My socks have Care Bears on them, and if anyone besides me ever saw my underwear, they’d be thoroughly amused by the fact that they’re actually Supergirl underoos.

Never, ever, ever grow up.

Damn! You beat me to it!

IMHO, maturity is not something to strive for, it’s just something that just happens.

It’s important to be mature in the sense that you must be serious about your responsiblities to other people. Pay your bills on time, and do not be rude or selfish.

But in all other areas of life, enjoy your immaturity while it lasts.

Wear whatever makes you happy.

Personally, I have decided to thin out my closet by getting rid of anything not any shade of green, blue, brown, black or white because I realized I really don’t like reds, yellows and purples. This most definitely includes those orange and pink things I have no idea why they are in my closet. I have to ask myself “what the hell were you thinking when you bought those things?”, then I remember “Oh yeah, they were on sale.”

Omigod, I love Care Bears! You know what else is cool? Smurfs!

And Weebles. But I digress.

And what about footy pj’s? They’re so cool…

No, you don’t.

My best friend was just like you. She had a good time with her “kindergarten” taste and so did the rest of us.

Then she started trying to acquire good taste. She learned that navy and black don’t go together. She learned that sweatshirts and jeans aren’t suitable for every social event. She learned that posters of wizards and dragons weren’t “grown up” enough for a married woman of 27 to hang on the walls of her house.

She’s having a lot less fun.

Oooh yeah! Footy pj’s!

I actually can knit socks. I mean, I obviously don’t knit every pair I own. But I have some of the whackiest hand-knitted socks you’ve ever seen. I don’t think anyone ever really notices, so it’s like my dirty little secret.

I got those, too! They’re light blue with clouds all over them, so I call them my Microsoft Promotional PJ’s.

Wha? Okay, I guess I’m still not grown up then. That’s a relief.

As proof of my childish taste, this is my next t-shirt purchase.

I think rainbow-colored tops are, at least to some extent, back. I am taking full advantage and buying them now, while I can get them. I will wear them as long as they last, even if they go out of style, because I like them.

I think that’s a conspiracy of the boring people to try to make the rest of us boring, too…

Your username is awesome.

And the next two lines are

“And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings.”
It’s a great poem… (The Walrus and the Carpenter). Second only to the classic Jabberwocky among Carroll’s poems, imho.

Well… I’m several years older and I have a deep purple bedroom with pumpkin-colored roman shades (made 'em myself). My kitchen is sponge-painted bright apple green and has a tall cabinet that I covered in kryptonite. And I am currently wearing grape-colored birkenstocks.

And I like it.

Navy and black don’t go together? Huh. I thought black went with everything.

I have Supergirl panties too. Lots of them. Quite a few are thongs. I’m 28 and my house is full of action figures and assorted pop culture ‘n’ comics crap. My husband and I both like it, so sue us.

Everyone has some bad taste. I use to watch “Earth: Final Conflict” even though i knew it was absolute crapola. Although i gotta say, I have the exact opposite problem as you CeilingWhacks, when it comes to clothing colors. My entire wardrobe is drab olives and blacks and greys and browns and beiges and navys and slate blues. I think I’m allergic to color.

It looks a little strange. Mostly, though, it’s a faux pas because it makes you look like you got dressed in the dark or can’t see the difference between navy and black.

Eee! I have Supergirl underoos too! Red and blue (and blue and red) ones, and pink with dark pink trim and white with blue trim!

I will always have a bit of little-kidness in me. I love silly socks and fun undies. I adore hideous patterns for socks, especially, like this: http://store1.yimg.com/I/absolutesocks_1827_214174797 . My favorite pair of socks are my bright fuschia with an argyle pattern of green and brown diamonds, with orange tick-lines.

Oh, and I love my t-shirt that is black, says “hugs and kisses” and has a crossbones, a smiling skull, and another crossbones and smiling skull (in white with iridescent glitter!).

I love bold colors and obnoxious colors. I’m only 22, so I figure I have time before I start to get the “aren’t you going to grow up any time soon?” questions. I get bright-colored things most especially in notebooks and socks and nail polish and whatnot. The small things that make you smile, but aren’t overpowering.

Well, being fourteen, the whole “adult” thing dosent really apply, but if it helps I went to school once in green and red slippers, mismatched socks (one black and purple striped, the other one was a “grinch who stole christmas” sock), a light red patchwork ankle legnth pesanty skirt, a light orange mighty mouse shirt with an orange, brown, purple, pink, red, light green, and white sweater. oh, and green and gold ribbons braided into my pigtails (which are, btw, two and a half feet long.)
As a good friend of mine put it “So which fairy threw up on you this time?”

What’s wrong with bad taste? Good taste is boring!

Our house is filled with various pop-culture, cartoony, and videogamey stuff. We’ve even got a couple of posters that we talked our local military base Burger King into giving us on the walls. And while my clothes tend to be muted colors, my jewelry is big, silver, and glittery. I wear as much as I can.

I’m moving to Phoenix, AZ soon, and I’m itching to go back to their vintage clothing stores. That way I can get more interesting clothes!

(And I’d offer to take the black-and-pink kitty quilt, but BrattiAtti beat me to it.) :stuck_out_tongue:
