I have just discovered the best movie reviewers ever

Statler and Waldorf: From The Balcony

I trust I need say no more.

That’s just about the best thing ever made, ever.

“Too much sisterhood, not enough ya ya.”

Oh my! I love me some Pepe the king prawn! Even more now that I’ve seen him call Sandra Bullock’s film “Miss Congenitalia”

They were great in one of the Muppet movies, watching TV in a rest home:

W&S: “Nurse! There’s something wrong with the TV!”

Nurse: “What?”

W&S: “It’s on! Heh heh heh heh heh!”

Still the benchmark for criticism in this house. Great site, though.

The title should read “movie previewers” since they’re basing their “opinions” on the trailer and not actually having seen the movie itself. Unfortunate, since it’s easy to bash a movie you think you know but are possibly misjudging.

Still, some very funny stuff. Good to see Animal in there, but I had to stop before I got to the Swedish Chef. Pepe’s funny too (if a bit too Triumphy).

Yes, it’s good for us all to be reminded not to expect unbiased and nuanced cinema studies from a Muppet.

That’s hysterical, especially Pepe at the “Flightplan” premiere.

and a pair of Muppets who’s sole purpose is heckling performances (live, felt/foam rubber, or otherwise)

i mean, c’mon, Statler and Waldorf have been riding their one trick pony of “grumpy old man Muppets” for a long time

still, i enjoyed it, it’s been bookmarked

however, i still can’t get past the “new” voices for the Muppets, yes i know many of the classic Muppet performers are sadly no longer with us, but the voices for Waldorf, the Swedish Chef, and maybe a little bit of Rowlf sounded…if not wrong, at least a little off… the back of my mind was constantly saying “that’s not Waldorf, that’s not Swedie, close, but not the real voice”

i’d love to see a “New” Muppet Show that added in the new Henson muppets to the cast of the classic, maybe as “guest stars”…

Kermit comes on stage…

“It’s the Muppet Show, with our Special Guest Muppets Pilot and Rygel from Farscape! YAAAAYYYY! (frenetic arm-rod waving)”

Ryg could be backstage on his ThroneSled “I don’t care what that frog says, we’re NOT related, and you can’t tell me what to do, i’m Dominar of over 6.5 billion subjects, i’m nobody’s Muppet!”, and Pilot and Animal could get into a drum set duel, wonder if Animal has enough energy to compete with Pilot’s four arms…

“Muppets Tonight” is probably the closest thing you’ll get. I’d heard rumblings of a new talk show hosted by Kermit but not lately. Don’t know why not, either. Everyone else has their own talk show. Hell, Kermit even guest hosted The Tonight Show on one of Johnny Carson’s nights off.

The hell is [/uld quote]???

“I am Plubus, Lord of All I Survey.”

Hey, I didn’t expect it, but it might’ve been nice. Heck, Mr. Cranky actually watches his films and manages to maintain a curmudgeon approach while also delivering on the movies that deserve it the most. All I’m saying is the comments are funnier when they resemble the truth (which were certainly spot-on for some films) instead of just taking a piss for its own sake.
