I’m not sold by any arguments here that this phenomenon is real, but again, I’m not going to say it doesn’t happen. Does anyone have a cite which backs “mood eyes” up?
In the interest of science, can we have some of you who can do this maintain a picture log? It would be very, very interesting!
WAG:
The phenomenon has to do with the eye’s dilation or constriction. My eyes are greenish with a ring of yellow around the pupil. When they’re dilated, the dark outer ring of green is predominant and the yellow is very hard to see, but when they’re constricted you can really see the yellow.
And it turns out that pupil dilation can correspond with mood, too, so perhaps this is the grain of truth we’re looking for.
