I have never smelled a skunk before...

Far off (WAY far off) the smell of skunk isn’t bad. But you don’t want to get too close.

A few years ago, I was driving home from work down a back road. Because it was a nice day but I didn’t want my windows down (hair blowing around drives me nuts), I had changed my airflow from recirculate to outside air. Out of nowhere, a skunk waddled out into the road in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and luckily did not hit the skunk. It then proceeded to thank me for my concern by lifting its tail and spraying the front of my car, which wouldn’t have been much of a problem … except that I had outside air blowing into my car at the highest fan setting.

My car’s interior stank for months.
