We ran out of propane on Sunday and have no heat in the house. The stove and water are all electric, which is nice, but it still sucks that the house is only 49 degrees. Since its just my sister and I in the house, and we won’t be here much longer, and the house is going to become abandoned, we plan on going with out until the weather gets warmer. Our bedrooms are nice and warm with space heaters, and the oven keeps the kitchen and living room warm if we are down there.
I don’t know why I felt like posting this, but I did.
My father died, and he owes almost $30,000 more than the house is worth and the bank told us that they were not going to auction it when they forclose, so when they take it, its going to become abandoned.
Man - I am sorry for your situation all the way around. Be very careful with heating a house in that way. I see an awful lot of fires on TV in the winter from people doing that.
Thanks for your condolences. We have had space heaters in the house for years, and we only plan on doing the oven thing if we re going to be cooking, so I;m not too worried about that. Like I said, the bedrooms and upstairs are nice and warm, it’s the downstairs that gets cold.
Oh, and the attornay said that we don’t have to worry about actually being out of the house until some time in 2009, but we plan on turning it over to the bank sometime in August or Spetember. That way we don’t have to worry about heat next winter.
