I Have now lost all respect for A&E

How dare you disparage A&E! They show Newsradio at a decent time, instead of the 1:30 AM time slot it used to have. Plus I can be lazy and not change the channel afterwards cause it goes right into Law & Order.

May i refer you to an earlier post of mine where i stated in defence of A&E that the do run soe good programs durning the day?

Regardless, this is the thrird book-to-movie project that they have slaughtered, and i mean wrecked. I’m sorry, but when it comes down to things like this they just seem to be into it for the ad time.

SpinneZiege…did you watch the movie? Do you even know what it means to sell out? Did your post actually mean anything?

-50 for uselessness.

I watched the Plaza scene and some stuff. I thought Daisy was rather bizarre for some reason. They didn’t act very well…it just seemed as though they were reading the lines rather than acting them. They put no enthuasiasm into their voices which made it rather dry.

Also, I think Mira Sorvino was still stuck in Marilyn Monroe mode from her last TV movie.

Upham beat me to it. Two words: Northern Exposure.
NewsRadio and Night Court are just icing on the cake. I love Northern Exposure reruns.

Kinsey i am planning to drive to Alaska in May for one reason and one reason only. I have been watching the Northern Exposure re-runs for over a year now and i figure i’m about ready to go.

Chris kicks ass.

This doesn’t mean i’m ready to forgive A&E though… i mean it’s not like they made Northern Exposure or anything…

Man oh man, I just finished watching my tape and it was just…blah. It seemed small, with no connection to the outside world or events around it, and they must have blown all the budget on the extras for Gatsby’s parties, since that was the only time you saw more than three or so people on the screen at once.

I liked the Gatsby and Paul Rudd, since I’ve seen him onstage, has major coolness points but Mira Sorvino just kind of…why would you be smitten by this woman and change your whole life for her? No spark, nothing.

I just hope people get interested enough to read the book itself. BTW, I’m surprised to hear people stick up for the 1974 movie. I thought it was slower than continental drift. Sorry about that, Old Sport!
