I have ruined my wife

Yeah? Well, youth culture killed my dog.

I think it’s ironic that the song TMBG is best known for is one they didn’t write. It was recorded in 1953 by The Four Lads.

Thank YOU.

Now I’m singing Particle Man as well as Istanbul. I do love They Might Be Giants, though.

I have a similar challenge with a friend, I think my greatest coup was getting “Deutschland uber Alles” stuck in his head.

You can see these on their video compilation DVD

For this kind of activity, nothing beats the “Torreador’s Song.” Trust me.

…Now I can’t get “Deutschland uber Alles” out of my head!

shakes fist

Dopers, please.

All you have to do is sing the Chicken Dance song a capella. Stays there for days.

Beaks… Wings… Tailfeathers!

Mna Mna (doo doo doo doo doo) Mna Mna (doo doo doo doo) Mna Mna (doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo dooot)

Great. I just had to fire up Winamp.

And every time I get that song stuck in my head, it morphs into “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken.” THAAAANKS.

Incidentally, about the third song that came up after I wrote this was “Purple Toupee”.

“I remember the year I went to camp
Heard about some lady name Selma and some blacks…”

Ah, earworms…

Mark from Church nailed me good with “Duke of Earl” a while back.

*Duke, Duke, Duke,
Duke of Earl, Earl, Earl… *

I really must get him for that one of these days! :stuck_out_tongue:

All the leaves are off of the oak and
all the sheep have followed the spoken
word I’m coming Constantinople, here I come…

See, not all references to Constantinople involve They Might be Giants…or the Four Lads…

That’s nobody’s busness but the Orthodox Christians.

“It’s a Small world after all!”

AAarrrggghhhhh!!!

That is all.

[sub]These are the Daves I know I know/
These are the Daves I know…[/sub]

“The sun is a mass
Of incandescent gas
A gigantic nuclear furnace
Where hydrogen is built into helium
At a temperature of millions of degrees”

Sorry. Incidentally, TMBG also didn’t write that one. TMBG is probably my favorite cover group.

Now that most TMBG fans are probably watching this thread, can anyone recommend an album? I only have “Severe Tire Damage” so far, and I like almost every song except the ‘Planet of the Apes’ block at the very end (after track 17).

Geez, nametag, have a bee in your bonnet or something?
make a little birdhouse…
