Personally, I’m an unreconstructed Freudian, and so, of course, I saw the obvious symbology…but I think the cigar really is just a cigar: the imagery appears to relate to stateroom keys on a luxury liner, and a comedy mix-up. Hilarity ensues. Also a marriage.

It was an era when sex was hinted at but never really acknowledged. Fade to black.
