I hope you fucking burn.

From the New York Times.

BALTIMORE, Oct. 17 — Inside the blackened shell of a home at 1401 East Preston Street is one of the saddest stories a city can tell.

It begins with Angela Dawson, a neighborhood crusader and mother of six, taking a stand against drugs.

It ends with Mrs. Dawson and her five youngest children burning to death in an engulfed bedroom and a young man from down the street in jail.
I hope you burn in hell for all time. I hope satan personally sees to you. I hope you feel the same terror and pain the children and their parents felt. They were awake. They knew they were going to die.

Unfortunately no death penalty is likely in Maryland.

However, people who kill small children are real popular in prison. Hopefully, Mr. Asshat will get 50-65 years of asspounding prison fun prior to getting killed in the shower and sent to roast in the pits of hell.

Hmmmm…unfortunately, the link won’t let me read the story without signing up. care to enlighten me on exactly what happened?

Try this link.

I feel so bad for the father. He survived by jumping out of the second story window. He’s in critical condition and now has no family :frowning:

Hmm, the second half of my post disappeared.
This woman actually cared, about her kids and her neighborhood. She called the cops on the dealers. She testified against them in court. She went to her kids school every day to eat lunch with them. The world, and especially Baltimore needs more people like her. What does some evil motherfucker do? Firebombs her house. She and her five children can’t get out, so they run up the stairs and huddle together. And die, in the most horrific way possible. Her husband jumps out of a second story window, with 60% of his body covered in burns. What does he have to wake up to? If he ever does?

I felt very ill after i read this story. I hope her neighbors don’t allow her and her childrens deaths to be for nothing. I hope that they will continue what she started, informing the police of drug deals, taking the time to testify in court to put and keep scum off the streets so that it is a safe place for kids.

I saw this on the news yesterday. It angered and saddened me at the same time. Here is someone who was trying to make a difference in her community and she and her children were killed for it. I can’t come up with a punishment horrible for this asshole. I hope they knife him and he dies real slowly.

I understand the anger present in this thread. Surely this was an incredibly terrible act, and it’s horrifying to think of the deaths of that woman and children.

However, I don’t understand the calls for violent, slow deaths. This guy killed a family because he didn’t like what she was doing or it was threatening to his way of life (criminal and despicable as it may be). Torture is obviously wrong. I can’t take pleasure or consolement in abuse of a prisoner, even a particularly heinous one, especially so gross as repeated rape and stabbing him to death.

I would like to add that this is surely a woman who should be admired by her community and others. I’m sure she will be missed.

I’ve been contemplating this semi-hijack for many hours now, so I’m glad fluiddruid jumped in.

I agree that this is a horrific event, but I strongly disagree with the sentiment that the perpetrator deserves to suffer as badly as did the victims.

Why not? This woman and her family died because she was trying to spread good and make the world a better place. The scum who killed her is, by my definition, truly evil. He at least deserves the very same punishment he saw fit to give these people.

Then, Amp, don’t you deserve that same punishment, since you ‘see fit’ to administer it to him? Or is it that the magnitude of an offense depends on the character of its victim?

Fluiddruid

I would stop short of articulating my desire for this criminal(s) to die a slow cruel and painful death. Secretly, my character flaws allow me to imagine that this would be a desirable outcome. In addition, should I hear that something of this nature happened, I doubt that I would be disturbed by the news. For instance, Jeff Dahmer gets knifed in the prison shower, I thought… excellent. He deserved that.

I realize this represents a demented line of thinking. Why don’t I feel guilty?

I’m going to have to agree somewhat with both fluiddruid and jacksen. This is a terrible act, for which he should be punished within the full extent of the law (laws which I’m not entirely in agreement with, but that’s a seperate issue).

That being said, I don’t wish him any slow punishment or believe he should suffer as they did. I simply see no point - it won’t bring them back or make anything better. However, I’m not going to shed any tears if something does happen to him, and I might feel on some gut level that he ‘deserve it’.

Sigh. Aren’t we humans great?

If AMP has not firebombed anyones house or shot anyone for no good reason, why, then does he/she deserve a punishment like that?

It’s one thing to fantasize about slow and painful deaths to scumbags. Hell, I do it sometimes. But I feel that to truly wish such a thing on anyone is degrading to oneself. Just kill the fucker quickly and be done with it.

This woman has to take some blame too. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against torturing the murderer, but what the fuck did the bitch THINK was going to happen is she decided to become the neighborhood narc? If you care about your children you don’t go around provoking sociopaths. if she had minded her own fucking business, she and her kids would still be alive.

Jesus Christ! I can’t beleive you thought, typed and posted that!

First, she didn’t ‘become the neighborhood narc’. She tried to make her little corner of the world safer for her children. I would hardly call alerting law enforcement to illegal activities right outside her door ‘provoking sociopaths’.

Trying to keep her neighborhood safe for her kids IS her fucking business.

True, but that’s a “look the other way” type deal. I do believe this woman wanted to take a stand by actually doing something. To have done nothing would in a way show that the “bad guys” had won by keeping people tucked away in fear.

If nothing else, the anti-drug folks now have a martyr.
