I’m about to disappear into a pool of melancholy with Big Brother again gracing our screens. I will admit up front I have never watched an episode. I can see nothing even remotely interesting in seeing brain dead teenagers or near brain dead older people talk about nothing ( I have seen shorts).
I just don’t get it.
And The Magnificent Ambersons was shown at midnight last night.
I’m not trying to be a cultural snob. 
This season doesn’t appeal to me too much, but I admit I still turn it on if nothing else interesting is on.
Usually I tend to warm to it if there are a couple of genuinely pleasant or interesting people in teh show. Last year I picked the winner the second I saw him. This year, I have no clue as they all seem rather too similarly annoying and immature.
But the truth is, I don’t understand the appeal either, nevertheless it can be quite inexplicably compelling.
Seems to me this current season is merely part of Channel Ten’s amazing plan to get two people to shag on-screen.
I’m not a fan personally, but Ausculture’s coverage of this year’s program is pretty amusing.
