I just don't get the thong/no panty line thing

Well, I have to chime in as far as the VPL thing goes…if your pants are tight enough to be giving you vpl at the waistband, then YOU NEED NEW PANTS. Or panties that don’t have a half-inch thick elastic. k? Thanks. For the lines across the bumcheek, though, the thong eliminates the embarrassing condition of everyone around you knowing that you have a Monster Wedgie [sup]TM[/sup]. Y’see, if your panties are going on a bit of a road trip, then everyone will know it. At least with a thong, you know where everything is, and you don’t have the lopsided left-leg-normal-right-leg-halfway-up-the-crack look.

Although I’ve heard that some men like that…

Trust me, I felt the same way…but somehow you just get used to it.

One girl I know has generally baggy pants, but even when she sits (in a way that tightens her pants) there’s still no VPL, and I could almost bet my life on the fact that she wouldn’t wear a thong… are some girls just lucky?

This is probably the girl that wears crotchless, PVC, studed stuff under her mild mannered chinos and blouse.

More like her mild mannered t-shirt, overshirt, and carpenter jeans

Screw “panty lines” go commando!

YBMV, but I’m much more comfortable with a thin strip of material as opposed to the whole width of each bumcheek worth of material rammed up there. I don’t even notice it. Yet I find ‘normal’ undies incredibly annoying due to continual adjustment… and face it, there’s no dainty way to pull your panties out of your butt. Each to their own and all that. I do honestly find it comfortable, and find ‘normal’ panties extremely irritating. Isn’t it great we all have different opinions

This has been answered, but only from an American perspective. Just in case any of you ever get to Australia, and just for some fun, I’ll explain the difference between a thong and a g-string, Aussie style

G-String : underwear that goes up you bum. If you check out Opal’s drawing, you’ll see a great picture of the American “g-string” and “thong”. These are both called g-strings, or g’s in Australia. We don’t distinguish between them (though the ‘thong’ style is much more common).

Thong: often called flip-flops, beach sandals, or in Australia thongs

In the US flip-flops are also called thongs, though I remember that name more from when I was a kid.

(btw, I go commando also. Undies are too much trouble)

[hijack] So, since y’all were so accommodating in explaining the difference between thongs & g-strings, could someone please explain why not wearing anything is called “going commando”?[/hijack]

Camel toe!!
