I just found someone I know on Match.com

…and she’s my new boss!

I was always thinking how weird it would be if I posted my picture on there (I haven’t) and someone I knew saw it.

The other thing is that it came up when I did a saved search of my “ideal” characteristics. And it was location non-specific, to boot. The site considers us a good match – of course it doesn’t know I work under her. NOT that I would consider pursuing anything of course… that’s a recipe for disaster. I know this from experience (but that last instance, we were in the same peer group).

Anyone else ever discovered someone you know while browsing an online dating site?

Anyone else have bad jokes pop into their head on reading this?

I found a naked picture of a cow-orker a couple weeks ago on in gay.com’s personal section. I did the only sensible thing, which was to email the picture to every other cow-orker I could think of so that we could all laugh at him behind his back. Turns out that he routinely sends the picture out to others in the company anyway, and now lists the company name in his profile.

I found a naked picture of a bartender from the bar I go to frequently on the same site. I was considering hitting on him but I won’t now because frankly his enormous penis frightens me.

I found a personal for my massage guy on another site. No naked pic, darn it.

Yep, I usually find a couple of women there each time I look. But they don’t put a date on their ads so some of them are pretty old…I just like to see who is on them. I saw one lady on the 4th of July who was on match.com & she was with her folks on the wharf. Must not have found a guy yet

Twice, though no nudity (darn it) was involved. One was somewhere on the SpringStreet network of ads; he was a guy I knew through a former co-worker. The interesting thing there was that the former co-worker had tried to set him up with everyone she knew except me, even though he and I got along really well.

The other one is a current co-worker on match.com, in whom I was actually interested before I came across the ad, though nothing has developed. I figure if the interest was mutual, we wouldn’t need the ads

Oh, don’t assume that, Rosebud. People often don’t pursue anything with coworkers in general (i.e., it complicates work sometimes).

I found a guy I know from school; his ad sounded incredibly normal. He put the psycho in psychotherapist. He had several photos posted, and I was able to see what spectacularly bad taste he has in clothes.

Lots of the photos have a picture of the woman with some guys arm around them but no picture of the guy.

At my last job, I was showing some of my cow-orkers my profile on match.com. Our admin assistant looked for a guy on the site as a joke–and found her ex-husband. He lied about everything, even his height!

I found two: one was a guy who I was seeing and he had updated his profile the day after our last date! (He had lied about his age on his profile)
The other was a coworker - 60 year old guy with long grey hair and creepy manner, teaches languages. A group of us were looking up men for an older coworker and this guys profile pops up - we all knew him ofcourse.

A few months ago I met a girl (in real life) and talked to her for awhile, she seemed pretty nice but I got distracted so never got her number or anything. Just a few weeks ago, I found her profile on Face the Jury (alternative version of match.com), and was able to talk to her a little bit more…too bad I dont’ think we’re compatible though.

You picked the worst possible time to make that typo.
