I missed this thread when it was current. Reading through it now this stood out:
Hah! I’ve lived in Kansas for my whole life, and I’ve never seen a tornado. Been under lots of tornado watches, even more than a few warnings, but the only time I’ve ever been in a town or city where a tornado actually hit while I was there was in Orlando, about 38 years ago. (And it hit way across town from where I was staying.)
So, yeah, part of what I’m doing is working for the company’s charity, lining up volunteers to teach fun activities to teens.
Over the past four weeks, I’ve confirmed 18 instructors to teach 46 classes over four Tuesdays in June, 10 of whom are new volunteer instructors. I’ve even got two or three more in the pipeline.
Maybe I CAN do sales. After all, I’m selling the program. I reach out, give them the info, follow up, if I don’t get a good sense of interest, move on to the next one.
Sheesh, I told you upthread. You seem like the type that can sell what you believe in. Not everyone is cut out to sell used cars (and as a sales guy, I mean that in a good way. I would suck at selling used cars, but there are folks that are really good at it and it is impressive. Others are great slap the back or have the gift of gab. There are multiple sales styles and I’d peg you as pretty good at either selling what you belive in and/or selling a good solution.)
